Up for sale is my 1978 Mercury Marquis Brougham. There is no option on Ebay to list a Marquis Brougham which is why the title says Grand Marquis. This car is sweet! It has the 6.6 engine with automatic transmission and runs, shifts, and drives really smooth. No engine knocks, ticks, leaks or anything like that. I have only had the car for a few months but I need the money now. It is really clean in and out and gets looks everywhere I go. The only thing I did to it was put in a brand new radiator and I installed a temperature gauge. I also put on a nice brand new dash mat which looks great! The Marti Reports shows this car is very rare and unique. It is only 1 of 18 built with these color / trim codes!!! No rust as far as I can see except the brackets that hold the rear bumper on are rusted. The frame, body and everything else appear to be rust free. The inside is really nice as well. I love this car! I literally can't go anywhere without people asking me questions about it and complimenting it's looks. It has power windows which work great, cruise control which also works perfect. The intermittent wipers work and it even still has the factory 8-Track radio!! The car has factory AC but needs to be charged. Local inspection is welcomed. Feel free to make an offer because all reasonable offers will be considered. All Deposits are non refundable. A lot of people asking a lot of questions so here is a list of what the car needs: The hide-away headlights work great when the car is running. They stay closed when the lights are off and open when the lights are on. However, their must be a small vacuum leak because they do not stay closed when the car is off. The armrest on the passenger side is cracked. Easy fix or easy to replace. The paint shines up nice but is not perfect. The car never been in an accident but the paint is not original in some spots. That's really it as far as I know. It's an awesome car. Even the tires are in terrific condition. On Jul-14-12 at 18:45:11 PDT, seller added the following information: Somebody asked me about the rear bumper brackets. This car has the 5mph bumpers which would the allow the bumper to compress in during a collision and then pop out afterwards. So the bumper is mounted to these huge brackets that wrap around the frame and allow the bumper to move in a little in an accident. Well those large brackets are completely rusted out which means if the car was in a collision the bumpers would not pop back out afterwards. No big deal. The car is in nice shape! There are some imperfections in the paint naturally but they are hard to photograph. There are no door dings on the car! How is the interior? The interior is in beautiful condition. The passenger side armrest is cracked as well as the drivers side. I think that's it! The seats are in beautiful shape with no rips, tears or even stains! The carpet is nice. The headliner is nice.The dash is nice. The top of the dash is faded to black which is why there is a dash mat on it but the dash mat fits and looks great! What condition are the tires in? The tires are in excellent condition! You will not need new tires for a long time!
