I have put over 30,000 miles on this truck since a bought it two and a half years ago. I have also put over $22,000 in upgrades. I also purchased a Ford Premium Care Extended Warranty that is good until September 17, 2014 or 100,000 miles. I have recently purchased a new truck. I always thought I would never sell this truck and I am going to be very sad the day it drives away. My wife fell in love with another truck (Chevy Duramax) and I gave in. I bought my truck in Dallas in January of 2010. I shopped for over a year looking for the right truck. I have a friend in the car business that told me the best combination of truck he has ever driven was the standard bed Ford F350 with the FX4 suspension. After owning this truck for over 2 years I agree that it drives better than any truck I have ever ridden in, including the new Chevy I just bought. I kept my old truck for work and this was to always be the truck I used for family, vacations and business trips. I have babied my truck from day one. I do not smoke and have never let anyone come within ten feet of it with a cigarette. I have never had a dog, cat or any other animal in the truck. I live in the Texas foothills so I do not get to use the four wheel drive very often. This truck came from the factory as a fully loaded Ford F350 Super Duty Diesel standard bed truck with FX4 Off road pkg. It also came from the factory with sliding rear window, keyless entry, duel power seats, lumbar support, electric telescoping and folding tow mirrors, upgraded dash and cluster accents, etc. UPGRADES INCLUDE: 1. 6” Lift by DR Racing 2. Remote Start 15. Lockable storage box in the bed. Large enough for tools, compressor, equipment. 16. Extended premium 100,000 mile warranty transferable ($75 transfer fee) POLICE Equip: I am a law enforcement administrator so the truck was equipped with emergency lights and siren after I purchased it. All of the equipment is concealed behind a custom front grill and side grills. eBay policy required that the siren box be removed as well as the red and blue lights. The department left all of the wiring in place and agreed that the equipment could be re-installed for a fee of $300 if the winning bidder is authorized to operate the vehicle with emergency equipment. This was all custom, professional installation. The lights were wired to the factory up-lifter switches, no holes drilled. The strobe lights are currently still installed in the front and back. I can have them removed if you wish. When the equipment was installed the department also put “Police Interceptor” badges on the truck. Those can also be removed if you wish. It never had a light bar installed, everything is under cover. Lift : This is a top of the line lift manufactured by DR Racing. I am 46 years old and not interested in a truck that looks like it is about to roll over or requires both hands to drive. We live in the Texas Hill Country where the deer population is the highest in the nation. The chances of hitting a deer are good (I have managed to avoid them for the past 4 years) I wanted a truck that was high enough to see over traffic, run over a deer without damage (I would not do that on purpose). I also wanted a truck that felt stable on the road, drove straight without pulling and did not look stupid. This truck accomplished all of that with this lift, it can still be driven into the covered parking area at the airport. Everyone who has ridded with me in this truck comments on how smooth it rides and how much power it has. It looks big, tough but not too young. Performance Upgrade: There were only two things I did not like about the 2008 Ford Super Duty. First was the diesel particulate filter that Ford installed that required the computer to “self-clean” the exhaust system periodically. The second was the fact that the 6.4 motor did not get great fuel mileage compared to my previous 7.3. I did a lot of research and found that Ford racing preferred to use the Dashdaq XL performance control system. Installing the DashDaq XL computer allowed me to remove the diesel particulate filter and replace it with a straight pipe; I chose to leave the muffler stock. My power increased by 175 horsepower and my fuel economy jumped to over 20 mpg. I have been very happy with the Spartan / DashDaq XL system. I am not interested in blowing clouds of black smoke or spinning my tires when I take off. I was just looking for the right solution to boost my power and increase my fuel economy. That said, this truck is super-fast! If you need to jump out in traffic this truck will set you back in the seat. The power is very impressive! The Spartan system is not an “adjust on the fly” computer system. It is used by Ford Racing and is a complete performance system that is designed to give you great performance without damage to your vehicle. You can adjust and custom program the system but it takes about 30 minutes for the computer to delete all previous programs and add the program you desire. Yes, you can make it blow black smoke and spin the tires, if that’s your goal. I kept the diesel particulate filter and will give it to the winning bidder of this auction along with the original exhaust. If you would like me to re-install the original exhausts before you pick up the truck that would be no problem either. Keep in mind that the removal of the diesel particulate filter allows you to leave the motor at idle for long periods of time without clogging the filter. It cost me almost two thousand dollars when I bought it and it has never given me any trouble. You can push a button on the key chain and the cover will automatically slide open and shut. It keeps out water and would be nearly impossible to break into, and I have the locking tailgate. You can put anything you want in the back of the truck and press the button. When the slide reaches the tailgate it stops automatically and is strong enough to stand on when it is closed. (Aluminum construction) If you are hauling something that is tall you can slide the cover partially shut, it will stop automatically when it pushes against the cargo and it holds the cargo secure against the tailgate so you do not need to tie things down. I also installed a remote switch in the bed to open and close the cover without the keychain remote. TIRES: Less than 1,000 miles on four new tires. Air pressure sensors installed. I bought the tires from Discount Tire store in New Braunfels, Tx. They are under warranty against road hazard or defects. The Tires are Toyo Open Country 37x13.5 R18. Tread is at 99% Vehicle Warranty: I purchased the Ford Extended Premium Care Warranty for this truck when the odometer was at 35,900 miles. I bought the warranty directly from a Ford Dealership. The warranty covers everything except maintenance items like oil change, air filter etc. It was the best warranty available and cost me over $3,400. I called Ford today to confirm that the warranty would transfer to the new owner, it will. Ford charges a $75 transfer fee; you will be responsible for that when you transfer the warranty and you can do that at any Ford Dealership. About the Stereo / GPS : I did a massive amount of research before purchasing a Navigation system and I was sold on this unit. It was not easy to convince me to spend over $3,200 on a Navigation / DVD system. I mostly listen to country western music and old time rock-and-roll so I was not looking for a stereo to shake my windows but I could not find anything that compared to this system. Below is the article that I read from a review of this system, it sold me on the unit. One of the best features is that I do not need to carry my CD collection around in the truck, if you play a CD in this truck one time it will automatically record that CD and you can access it from the stereo library any time in the future. It is also very user friendly for those of us that are technically challenged. Originally you would need to have the truck in park and the parking brake set in order to make entry to the navigation system or watch a movie on the front screen. I had that bypassed so I could adjust my navigation on the fly and it allows front passengers to watch a movie on the front screen while driving. This can be a distraction when driving so I suggest that you not play movies in the front system while driving. Rear DVD/ CD / mp3 I purchased a rear DVD player from Best Buy and had it installed there as well. The rear system can play over the radio to all speakers or through the headsets. I will include three headsets, all wireless. This is a great feature on a long trip because the kids can watch a movie in the back and you can still listen to your music in the front without disturbing each other. It’s also nice to be able to have a conversation with someone in the front without talking over a kids movie that is playing in the back. Alarm: I installed a Viper Alarm system from Best Buy ($699) I also installed the Vipor SmartStart system. Here is the information on the alarm; Now you can remote start, lock and unlock your car just by pushing a button on your smartphone; using the Viper SmartStart App from Directed, the leader in vehicle security and remote start. The simple graphical interface gives you control over the following features of your installed Viper remote start or security with remote start system: Lock / Arm Unlock / Disarm Remote Car Starter Trunk Release Panic Aux Channels You can also control multiple vehicles – great for families! – and assign more than one user to control a vehicle. Connectivity is managed through the Directed Cloud Services (DCS) network linking car, app, end user, and the Internet Problems: I know am supposed to list the problems with the truck but there is really nothing to report. If you gave the truck a good wax you will find a couple of small rock chips in the front. They are very small and would need to be pointed out in order to see them. The bed is in great shape, carpet is perfect, interior is great. This truck drives better than a new one. Additional Info: No rust! No dents! It has never been abused. I have never towed anything extremely heavy (although it is very capable) I have used my truck to tow my ski boat and jet skis. It pulls very nice; I can hardly feel the boat behind me. It has a factory electric brake system installed so it is set up to tow anything. I only use ROTELA motor oil. Oil and needed service is done every 3 to 4,000 miles. I will have a fresh oil change done this week before it is picked up by the winning bidder. I am including as many pictures as eBay will allow but I am willing to send you more if you wish. You are also welcome to come and see the truck in person in New Braunfels Texas. Conclusion: If you were going to buy a Ford Super Duty and then make it perfect, this is what you would end up with. The Blue Book value on this truck is $33,365 before all the upgrades! I added over $22,000 in upgrades including the Ford Extended Warranty. This truck will sell to the high bidder regardless if that is $5,000 or $50,000. I really hope to get what this truck is worth but I will trust the auction to bring whatever the market will pay. I am truly going to be sad to watch this truck drive away; it has a unique personality of its own.
