1976 Pontiac Trans Am, 400 Pontiac engine, automatic, posi-traction rear end with 80 some thousand miles. This car is original, complete, and it is a driver. It sat up for many years before I bought it. It has a fresh tune-up, remanufactured carburetor, radiator, and battery. The interior is in really good shape, power windows work, and it doesn’t appear as though it will take much to get the A/C working. The body has rust in the doors, trunk lid, and hood. I have replacement doors and trunk lid that go with the car. The rest of the body, including the floors, has very minimal rust and would not require much work. Mechanical: The car runs and drives well, transmission shifts good, original wheels are in very good shape but it could use new tires, brakes work as they should, and the posi-traction rear end is in good shape. Body: Overall the body is in very good shape. It appears as though it has had one repaint years ago and it is peeling off revealing the original finish underneath. As stated above, the doors, trunk lid, and hood need replaced. I have rust free doors and trunk lid that go with the car. The frame is solid, the trunk is mostly solid with 1 hole the size of a quarter, the floors are mostly solid but may require minor repair, the rear quarters are solid with a small spot of rust on the lower left in front of the wheel, the front fenders are just starting behind the wheel in the common area, and the roof and window channels appear to be solid. Interior: The seats are in great shape and may have been recovered at some time, the dash pad has a few cracks, the instrument cluster and surround is in good shape, the steering wheel has some of the rubber missing but I have another one of driver quality that goes with the car, the headliner is sagging, the carpet is faded but not worn, and the door panels are in decent shape.
