1971 BUICK RIVIERA GS track pack boat taill 455, automatic turbo 400, 308 posi car is in great condition and has rare options deluxe buckets console factory radio am fm is still in car but new cd player is installed where ashtray would be, the motor is matching numbers and all originaldown to carburator and so is the rest of car, runs and drives like a new car most of parts that wear out have been rebuilt carburator brakes alternator belts hoses ball joints so car is as dependable as it was new paint is fantastic almost show quality the tires are great transmission is perfect everything works great, interior is perfect not one blemish, car has been a weekend toy for many years , ac worked but compressor clutch was damadged and was making noise when ac was off so compressor was removed and is in trunk just got an other one from ebay and will be included in sale all the rest of components are there and are in great shape including hoses and brackets, car is fast sounds just like a muscle car it has 330 horse power chrome is good this is a perfect example of a true survivor that has been well maintained this car was designed by GM to look like the legendary 63 corvette and was one of the first luxury muscle sports cars in the world 71 was the most unique with the louvered trunk that went away in 72 the gorgeous bumpers that went away in 73 and was the most powerful from the boat tail,in 72 they lowered compression and smoged car out do to the government regulations and insurance premium hikes, and that was the end of the true muscle car era, manufacturers were reducing compression and performance every year by 1975 455 trans ams were pushing 175 horse power and car was 3600 lbs corvettes were 165 horse power thats why the 1969 to 1971 are the most popular most powerful and most expensive muscle cars, call with any questions you will not be disappointed 516 805 1655 cell sylvioOn Jun-12-12 at 17:18:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to apologize to all that were looking at car, thanks to some people that took the time to open my eyes to some interesting info I bought car a wile ago and was told that it had 308 posi also buckets were only available on gs the seller gave me all the emblems that were pulled off car when they were going to do work to it also he said that gs has posi not regular riviera, that made sense on chevelle ss and nova ss and other muscle cars that stands ground, also that the ta engine block is a gs and 330 horse that was correct and he showed me where it was stamped so all looked correct I think he believed that too, now after hours of research and a few helpfull individuals and help of the shop that had worked on car in past we come to conclusion that gs has different steering has 342 posi mine is 293 posi all rivieras had that the buckets do not mean gs it was an option and the code on engine that looks like TA(330 hp) is actualy after looking carfully TR(315hp) so car is not a gs but a regular riviera with buckets and other options if anyone wants can retract bids sorry for the misleading but at least we figured it out before we got an angry buyer and a hole bunch of adjustements. again sorry I am trying to take out the gs from description but I cant all I can do is leave this posting all the rest of description is correct you can let me know if anyone would like to look at car before bidding you are welcome On Jun-12-12 at 19:35:45 PDT, seller added the following information: just to recap all I found out please read carefully the car is an original matching numbers 455 315 hp engine suffix code is TR it has a posi 293 not 308 we counted the turns, 308 gears were not available on riviera all the rest of description is correct also the trac pack meaning posi traction not electronic traction control or anti skid these cars did have an electronic traction controll as an option witch consisted of a speed censor on a front wheel and one on trany when trany went faster the electronic ignition would misfire there for stopping to skid, primitive for now but ahead of its time unreal the things I learned today ,busy day but educational also for the new findings i will lower the reserve and wish everyone happy bidding car is worth alot more than I am willing to take On Jun-15-12 at 00:52:30 PDT, seller added the following information: some people asked if paint is original ? .no the paint was redone by a shop that paints old muscle cars it had some rust in trunk do to a leak that was fixed and trunk pan is brand new and so are the botom of quarters the body work is very straight and all of the car is all metal what ever was repaired was cut and mig welded correctly the vinal top and interior and carpet are brand new the seats were not bad but stiff and shiny in the center from sun so they were replaced but Identical to original not a stitch is different the interior was also done by a guy that does show cars and custom work in miami some of the jobs he does are for football players some incredible jobs, mine is just stock including the top the only inperfection is the weather striping is not totaly perfect but not bad not broken but shows wear a little bit may be original not sure everything works except clock on dash. I also have a second spair tire so I have 6 original wheels all go with car,
