Vehicle Detail
This is my final attempt to sell this car on ebay, I had tons of interest and offers but nobody took it and obviously the offers were not taken either but now I have lowered the price. I would love to answer all questions as best as I can but the last time I had it listed it was like a full time job answering questions so I will be answering questions in the evening of every day. If you look on los angeles craigslist you will also see the car and can get my number if you are truly interested if you would like to talk about it and the car is also listed for sale locally so if it sells locally I will close the auction. The mileage may be higher when you get it because I drive this car regularly not far usually but I like to have it running well and drive it whenever I can so it should go without saying but it is registered and insured. it is a great car to drive around as you restore it and I guess if it doesn't sell then I'll just keep on enjoying it myself. Pictures are the best way to get an idea of what the car is really like without actually seeing it in person, my photos are posted on photobucket, my user profile is diesel1996, then look at my public profile to see different albums of pictures I posted of the car, ebay won't allow me to post email address or url so that is the best way I know to help you see the pictures without actually having the url. I don't want to bore you with details but if you want to know more about the car read on. this is a fully operational and driving project car so we are clear, read the description and look at all the pictures before making any rash decisions. I bought this car from the local wrecking yard to prevent it from being crushed in the condition you see it in now. The bad: The state required me to get a "Salvage" title because I bought it from the junkyard that is just how things work in California so it was not smashed or something, you see the body damage in the pictures which would not warrant totalling the car and it wasn't flooded as there is no water to flood a car in southern california in the middle of the city. It has a dented passenger rear corner, damaged rocker panels, (I assume that is from a forklift in the junk yard or dragging it with flat tires) damaged driver door and molding, power windows not working with exception of the tailgate window, A/C needs a charge, paint is not so good either as you can see. Weatherstripping is pretty much nonexistent, driver doorpanel damaged because of water from leaky weatherstripping and carpet is shot. Heater core needs replacing, grille on driver side damaged, rust spot in passenger back wheelwell quarter size and a couple spots showing in bottom of door, rear brake started squeaking a month or so ago. Stock wheels long gone, only the spare with 1 hubcap remains Good: Runs good, drivetrain is in excellent never rebuilt as far as I can tell, I believe the reason for the car going to the junkyard was because reverse went out, it was a bad reverse servo which when replaced worked perfectly. 4 barrel "super marauder" 390 v8, automatic cast iron transmission 9" ford rear end, a local california car so rust is very minimal, whole tailgate area is cancer free which makes up for the many of the other defects if you are looking to restore it. power brakes and power windows, power front seat, and A/C making it a very well optioned car for the year. upholstery is pretty nice, all 3 rows original with the exception of the front bottom which I had redone and is slightly different in color. glass is good, small chip in windshield, doorpanels good with exception of driver door, dash is good but a couple small cracks on the corners of the speaker housing Nice 17" wheels that fit well and give the wagon a nice look. In my opinion you should be able to drive it anywhere, I would at least, so come fly in and drive it home. I will accept cash in person from the buyer at the time it is picked up. thanks for looking
