heres my very nice rust free 1963 beetle, originally the car was anthracite gray but was painted the popular silver beige.88000 og milesnewly rebuilt 1385cc engine ( read text block below for way too many details) i drive it everyday and i would trust it to drive anywhere the engine is the original 40hp case but is a very unique build using the 64mm crank , 40 hp rods and has AA hypercurectic coated 83 mm pistons. heads are nos 1300cc single ports using a 1600cc single port intake which was professionally modified for the 5mm shorter stroke.deck height was set precisely to 0.040" giving the engine a nice trouble free 7.6 compression.it uses a perfectly jetted original solex 30 pict-1 carburetor.oil pump is a higher volume 1500cc shadek. case was tapped for a full flow while i had it out but is not set up for one yet. it also has a oil sump baffle. rockers are 1600 1.3:1 using 40hp length push rods and stock 1200cc cam. what all of this gets you is a engine that gets you about 50-55 hp with loads of bottom end torque but looks like a 100% stock 40 hp engine. i built this engine myself ( I work at a very reputable vw shop). all of the machine work and parts used in the build came from mofoco, i have all of the receipts. the engine was built less than 2 months ago and has just passed its 1500mile break in cycle. it is my daily driver and as such has been serviced to high standards, recent service includenewly rebuilt engine ( details above)new brakes all around including master and linesnew fuel tank and all associated lines and vdo sending unittransmission refill using swepco paraffinnew sachs clutchrebuilt pedal assemblyaccelerator pedalall body rubberconverted to 12volt using genuine bosch internally regulated alternatornew dansk mufflernew batteryheat works great as does knob to turn it off ( important in the summer ) shocks are older boges but work greatall electronics work as should im not sure if the interior is original or a older restoration but it is in 95% prefect conditioncar was originally anthracite gray but was resprayed very nicely in silver beigeglass is perfectthe car has no rust, under the battery tray is as new and has never been repaired, there are a few paint bubbles here and there on the body but nothing bigger than a few millimeters in diametercar starts right up and drives greatcruises on the highway @ 65 or faster if you want gets about 35mpg at about 60mphradio is a 12 volt am fm sapphire xxiv that works and sounds suprisingly goodall wiring is original and in great shapeengine bay is very very tidy shifts better than any beetle i have drivene brake works very well!steering box has no playsuspension height has never been modifiedtires are older dunlops car has 88000 original miles on it engine has 1500miles on iti drive it everyday and wouldnt hesitate to drive it to california with some new tirespictures were taken as the car always looks, i wade no effort to make it look extra clean or shiny for this ad, it is just a nice car and it has always been well cared for!car is located in raleigh north carolinaneeds nothing to be your daily driver or a car show cruiser i am selling because i have been bitten by the want for a porsche 911 bug very bad!!! clean title in my name
