Vehicle Detail
Selling my 2002 Honda Insight with a 5 speed transmission. Originally purchased in the Dallas area, the car has resided in Texas it's whole life. I'm the original owner and the car has been garage kept when not in use. I have a reserve on this, but it's reasonable. Everything on the car is working. Blows cold A/C. Drives and tracks straight. All maintenance item are up to date including coolant change, manual transmission fluid change, filters, and spark plug replacement. What's Included Car comes with all original manuals, documentation, and window sticker. Also included is an extra Honda oil filter as well as the tool for filter removal. I've always done the oil changes so the drain plug has been replaced with a quick drain fitting. The original drain plug is included. Only thing not original is the radio (manual included) and I'm missing the front license plate holder. Cargo net and the rear mat also included. 3 keys (1 valet) and 2 wireless fobs. Condition: Body condition is excellent. Car has never been in an accident or any minor anything. Just some rock nicks on the nose that don't show up in pictures well since the primer below is gray. Small door dings on passenger door noted in picture and I touched up the drivers side mirror since the paint was chipped. Tires replaced at 110,469 (2) and 95,159 (2). Regular rotations have them lasting for me around 50-60k miles. Interior - NON-SMOKING Car. Driver's side mat shows wear. No rips or tears in any fabrics. Battery Pack (IMA): Battery pack and all control modules were replaced on 2/20/2012 @ 122,000 miles under the warranty extension. Reliability: Besides the battery pack replacements, the only thing I've had to replace was an O2 sensor at 116,900 miles. Front brake pads were replaced at 75,078 miles but really didn't need it. Car can be inspected this week upon appointment (it's not left out in the open.) I can free up some time to meet with you if you want a test drive. Deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auction close and full payment within 7 days or when vehicle is picked up (whichever is sooner.)On Jun-04-12 at 16:52:53 PDT, seller added the following information: eBay is having trouble posting the questions I've received into the listing (opened a ticket), so I've added them here:1) Can you meet me at DFW airport?Yes, I will meet you at either DFW or Love Field airports to complete the transaction for those of you wanting to fly in and pick up the car. I'll need a lift to my family's house about 15 minutes north of the airports though.2) Can you tell me how the transmission and clutch are? Any problems, difficulties or grinding noises shifting up or down in any gear? The clutch and transmission have had no problems. The dealership didn't note anything either back in February. No slipping or grinding of gears has ever been felt and everything shifts smoothly. In fact, even after the manual transmission fluid change, I couldn't tell any difference. The car has had mostly highway and long trip driving and not many in town, short trips. 3) Have all the recalls been completed?Yes, all the recalls, including whatever replacement parts were needed are complete and the car is up to date. On Jun-04-12 at 19:13:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Uploaded some giant, zoomable pictures of the Insight. Let me know if there is a picture you would like that I haven't represented. JPEGbay.com - free eBay hosting On Jun-05-12 at 19:55:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I typo'd the last service date of 2/20/2012. It should be 2/10/2012. Dealership replacement of the IMA battery was from 2/8/2012 - 2/10/2012. They had to wait for the parts. Sorry for the confusion.Question:so when was it serviced by dealer last ? sounds like it has no issues is that right?clean title in your hand in your name?any reason why it woul dnot make it back to the east coast with out issues ?does it have a mp3 hook up for the stereo ? is that single disk or multi? thanks in advance for your answersAnswers:Last time it was at the dealership was 2/8 to 2/10/2012 for the IMA replacement. Listing says 2/20, which I will correct. All other maintenance items were already complete before this service. Spark plugs at 102437 (all 'B's for those who know something about the car), transmission oil at 120478, and coolant at 121244. Last oil change was at 120478 with new oil and air filters. I've always used Mobil 1 0W-20 synthetic. Only other issues besides battery packs was the Q49 Campaign/Bulletin 07-036. This was a recall/reprogram for a catalytic converter problem. So I got brand new upper and lower catalytic converters at 28580 miles (6/23/2003).Yes, I have a clean title in my name. I'll have all the correct Texas paperwork ready. Stereo is a AM/FM/CD (no MP3), but it has AUX input. There is a plug draped across the console in front of the cup holders that you plug any MP3 player into. It doesn't control it, but plays out the stereo. Also, this car has 4 speakers. I bought the Honda speaker kit to use the connections, but put better speakers in. Stereo is 4x50W Clarion ProAudio DXZ525.I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere. It has never even burnt a drop of oil or left me stranded anywhere. Even when the battery pack failed on me, the car was still drivable. Spare tire has been on the ground maybe 3 miles when I got a flat years ago in my garage. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks,Tom
