Vehicle Detail
This is a rock solid 1929 Ford Model A Coupe with an incredible body and fenders. I have not found a dent on it and I don't believe there's an ounce of bondo in it, no reason for it. The cowls, rockers, doors, quarters, hood, fenders, and original floor are in excellent condition. No patch panels ever and none needed. The doors click shut like new and the only rust-through is a few pinholes in the rear floor underneath the rumbleseat cushion where some mice lived for a while. I believe I am the 4th owner of this car. It was purchased new by a batchelor farmer in Kansas who drove it until it was sold and brought to Austin in the early 1970s. The fenders are exceptional, no bends, dents, or cracks anywhere. It is very original, has the numbers matching engine in it, original shocks, nice gas tank, unbelievable body and fenders, etc. It even still has the original engine pans on it. The body # stamped into the floor crossrail is TC1348, denoting it was the 1348th coupe body assembled at the Twin City, Minnesota plant. The gas tank is stamped July 25, 1929, and the serial number on the block decodes to July 30, 1929. The car overall is in fantastic condition but it has suffered from poor storage and it's taken it's toll on the paint, upholstery and wood in a few places. Some of the roof wood and the quarter window wood will need replacing. The car had not been started for about 25 years before I acquired it. I blew out the dry gas tank, rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new set of points and it fired right up. I have driven it around the house, it runs and drives and stops, but will need some fine tuning. This is a great car for someone who doesn't want to deal with rust or bodywork but wants to tinker with a car while driving it, or it is an excellent candidate for a restoration since it is so original, complete, and rust and dent-free. The fuel shutoff under the hood drips a little gas, but it will run and drive to put on a trailer or for a car hauler. Please see the pictures, ask all questions, before bidding, come look at it if you want, and view my other auctions. This vehicle is sold as-is, where-is, in Round Rock, TX, with no warranty expressed or implied. The winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs. On Jun-03-12 at 15:42:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I just realized that I overlooked a detail in the description. When I bought this car, I did not get any keys with it. The previous owner could not find them. I have replaced the ignition switch with a toggle switch for starting. I do not have a key for the passenger side door lock nor do I have a key for the lock that is on the spare tire. The new owner will have to have keys made and add an ignition switch or however they choose to handle it. Please inquire with any questions, or if you'd like to discuss the car, e-mail me your phone # and I will call you or send you my #. I will be out of town from Monday, 6/4, until Wednesday, 6/6, but will promptly respond to inquiries Wednesday night or Thursday. Thanks!
