Vehicle Detail

For Auction: (1) 1967 Volvo 1800s. This car was sold in '66 and has the exterior chrome of a '66 but it's titled as a '67 (the title is clear and in my name). The car was parked in dry storage in the early 90's when the owner has back surgery. It was never driven again. I got the car as part of a multi-car deal when he (third owner) decided it was time to part with his Volvos (and extra parts). I would love to see this car back on the road and thus am selling it whole rather than parting it out. The body is very solid and appears to be rust free. I thumped the floors with a screwdriver and didn't find any holes. or soft spots The rockers are original and solid as well. The only body damage that I know of is the nose has been changed out. I state this as full disclosure. The nose is from a later 1800. The bondo has flaked off in the area of the weld but it's not rusting there. This body is better than 99% of the 1800 I see. There is no body damage that I can find back of the nose area. Even the rear panel is smooth with no filler. Body seam lines are present and correct. There also seems to be a leak in the radiator and I don't have a key for the gas tank (I will include another lock and matching key). The good stuff about this car: We started the car last week for the first time in about 20 years. The engine appears to be a well built B20. It has a cast 'IPD-VOLVO' valve cover. The head is a rare big valved head (like injected) but it was never drilled for the injectors (the Volvo competition services department supplied heads like this but the part number on this head, don't match any of those). The weber carb needs to be jetted richer, suggesting a bored engine and most likely a better than stock cam. Exhaust is a double down style with oversized exhaust behind that. The motor ran very smooth. We ran the car from a jar of glass as I didn't want to mess with the gas tank. The tank held fuel and looks to be in good shape, We drained the 20 year old gas but I'm sure it will need to be cleaned out before it's a daily driver. The car also has IPD sway bars front and rear with Bilstein shocks. During that test run (Email and I can send you a video if you are serious about this car) we found the tach and oil pressure worked as well as the water temp gauge. Generator also worked well. The suspension (rear) is the later style, true to the late '66, early '67 built. Front seats are in a dark blue velvet and are dusty more than the sun faded they look. I have the original owners manual, warranty card and warranty book for this car and it was sold locally. Milage unknown and the above # is since I have to have some value in there. No idea how many times it's been rolled over. There is a partial tool kit and jack in the trunk as well as a spare tire (wide steel wheel like three of the tires under the car are) with the spare tire cover. I am happy to deliver this car up to 30 miles from my place at no cost beyond the sale price (like to a shipping agent in Portland). I will help any buyer with shipping but I will not arrange. If you need the car to be trailered to your place (with in 200 miles of my place), I will do it at $1.25 per loaded mile. All costs (purchase and trailering if needed) will be paid in full before the car leaves my property. Payment will be: $200 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit with in 48 hours (2 days) of the close of the auction via paypal or cash face to face. The balance of the sales price will be paid in full at pick up of car or before it leaves my place. Payment can be made in cash at time pick up or paypal if you are else where. Please ask any and all questions before the end of the auction. I can be reached at 503-789-6455 if you have question that can't be answered by reading the above. Please call between 7am and 8pm west cost time, leave a message if I don't answer and I will call you back. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Added information from questions I have recieved: The tires hold air (I aired them up two weeks ago to roll the car on the trailer to take it to the IPD swap meet where it didn't sell). They are fine for rolling it up on a trailer, I wouldn't want to tow this car for hundreds of miles on them. You might be fine, you might have the tires come apart. Also if you are a distance buyer (ie not meeting face to face), the title will be send to you via registered mail. I will cover this cost in the states. If you are overseas, this mailing will be via airmail at cost (about $20 to the EU). ---------------------------------------------------------------- More added infomation: The video of the car running can be found on youtube. Ebay will not let me post the direct link so email for that. If you are local and want to inspect the car, that is fine. Also a number of folks have offered me less than the BIN price. I'm holding off from accepting anything less than $3k for the time being. If you want it now, click the button and pay the $200 Non-refundable deposit to take the car off the market.
