Well if you are looking you probably know the deal already. A 40 year reinvented Hertz GT-H Rent a Racer was born. Not to be mistaken with the GT500 "badged Shelby's" these were built at the Shelby factory in Las Vegas. 500 automatics made in 2006. There were 997 made in 1966. If you owned a 1966 now in nice shape it would be worth around $150,000. The original sale to a private owner was me. It is registered with Shelby(copies of paperwork in photo). The only shortcommings of the car are the battery(original) needs replaced and a Motorcraft replacement is on the way and there is a slight amount of black touch up paint around the hood pins. No dings scrapes that I detect and it has been kept in my garage with cover since my purchase 11/10/2007 with the mileage when I bought it was 12,416. Caroll Shelby passed away 2 weeks ago but the legends he created live on. You can own a piece of history that has all the amenities of a modern car with an unmistakeable growl, handling, neck jerking acceleration and class that only a select few can know. On May-30-12 at 20:44:21 PDT, seller added the following information: I wanted to add there are no dings in the side or anywhere else, scratches or cracks in the paint other than what is previously disclosed that I can detect. On Jun-02-12 at 05:09:38 PDT, seller added the following information: In the bright sunshine and only outdoors this morning, I do see several surface defects(scratches). You cannot see them from 5 feet away, or in the garage. They are surface and they will not show on a picture(tried) and I guess what you would call typical of a car with 14,000 miles that turn white with wax. The battery is replaced and I took her out this morning. There are no cracks nor dings. The only scratch with shows at an angle is the one prior described. I just wanted to be clear that the paint is not just off the assembly line, but is extremely nice but not brandy new perfect.
