Vehicle Detail

1961 VW Bug, bought in Germany, painted, partially restored in 98 and shipped to U.S. in 2000. Speedometer in Kilometeres (Kph), shows 97,000, or 60,273m on odometer. Engine not original, pretty sure engine is from 71 Beetle. Car is converted to 12V. Fun car, needs some more restoration (inside), perfect for any VW/bug enthusiast. Call and set up a time to come take a look. If you're looking for an old bug to mess around with, this is a perfect car for you. Great for any collectors. Don't be afraid to make an offer. Thanks for looking. Brand new battery installed. This car is rarely driven so to get in and start it up, drive it around and let someone take it on a test drive says a lot for a 51 year old VW. We don’t drive this car, it sits in my shop and collects dust a lot. We can get in and go for joy rides but very rarely and not far. It had rust on it when we bought it and had it painted in Germany, I think they did a good job getting rid of most. There is some coming through on the rear deck lid under the license plate and the paint is cracked there some. There are a few minor dings and scratches because it gets in my way when I’m working in the shop. It now resides in my truck’s spot in the garage. This is a painted 1961 bug, not fully restored. I believe the body is in good shape and could be detailed to shine. But we just don’t spend time with it. It would need a good tune up, a couple tanks of gas run through and a good once over on the brakes, alignment, tires balanced etc. We had it serviced by a bug guy a while ago but the oil looks clean/brand new because it hasn’t been driven over 100 miles in 5 years. Please feel free to ask more qustions. On Jun-01-12 at 14:32:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Just picked up from a VW import mechanic. Had him do a quick once over check, put it on a lift and looked around. He said it looks good. I'm confident if you're a VW beetle fan you'll enjoy this car. On Jun-01-12 at 14:40:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Report from Davis Auto in Valdosta GA - Engine- appears in good condition-1600cc-no oil leaks aer obvious. Runs well. Brakes-Needs rear shoes. Some Brake binding or drag, recommend overhall brake service Front end- the only prolem found is left king pin play-not critical at this time. Tires have good tread but show some dry cracking on side wall. Over all condtion of body is good. Some evidence of rust repair in wheel wells but looks to be a good quality repair. Road test-No problems
