Vehicle Detail
Hi, I obtained this 70 Barracuda in a package deal with 3 other pre-war cars, and it is the one that is being sold. The collector told me it was a very rare car because it was ordered with a 6 cylinder engine. Though I am pretty certain it will be built as an awesome "cuda" clone of some type. It needs full restoration including floors, trunk pan, interior, radiator support work, body and frame work. An original floor pan from another cuda came with the car (see picture) and is included with the sale. Car has had plate steel welded in cowl (see pictures) at some time in the past. Odometer reads 32,000 but may be 132,000 miles. All side glass appears to be good needs a windshield and back convertible plastic window. Top goes up and down easy and the car rolls and steers very easily - of course there is no motor or transmission included in this sale. What you see in the pictures is what I have. Please ask all questions before bidding on this project car. I will call you if you ask me to and answer all questions to the best of my ability. I reserve the right to end auction early until auction reaches the reserve price. Connecticut is a non-title state so this car is being sold on a bill of sale only. Car is being sold as is where is. Please only bid if you fully intend on buying this car should you be the high bidder. a $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of close of auction. Thanks for viewing my auction and happy bidding! On May-14-12 at 18:55:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Update...One sharp bidder pointed out that the fifth digit in the ID number looked like a G not a C. I checked the factory sticker on the drivers door and it is clear the fifth digit is the letter G. I did a rubbing of the dash VIN plate and the fifth digit looks like a C except the lower hook of the letter goes up higher than the upper hook comes down. I do not speak Mopar, but he told me that the letter G means it had a V8 in the car not a 6 cylinder engine. So to be clear, I'm not sure what engine was in this car but I am positive it was not a 4 cylinder. Sorry for any confussion. Thanks for the heads up Clay.On May-15-12 at 08:20:08 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi everyone, I have returned some phone calls and thought I would share the jist of them for it may be helpful. I have no other parts to this car other than what you can see in all the pictures. The frame rails do have some rotted out sections. The radiator support is pushed up and in a little probably at the time the car was taken off the road. The car has had repairs to the nose at a much earlier time as evident from the welds in the engine compartment of the sheet metal, upper and lower rails and firewall as can be seen in the pictures. I have just taken a couple of close ups for this fella of that area and can email them to you also upon request. Everyone is welcome to come and see the car before bidding but please leave your cash home-As stated above, I will not end the auction early as it has already met the reserve. Thanks again and good luck!
