Vehicle Detail
1970 FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK PROJECT CAR. 302, C4 Automatic trans., power steering. Car is a very solid Wyoming/Idaho project. The only rust is as follows: Two small spots on right inner fender where the fender mounts, Quarter size spot on lower rear section of both doors, One slight spot on one of the ribs of drivers floorboard, Small spot by left taillight. It had the lower right quarter and right trunk floor piece replaced. Needs finishing. All body panels are original. Small dents, bruises, and scrapes here and there. You don't need a professional body man to make this one into a fun driver. I have most parts except no grille. Headlight bezels are there, but junk. Interior is mostly redone. Green seats, headliner, door panels. Black carpet and dash cap. Has newer 302. Runs, but is tired. Transmission seeps, but works fine. Car drives good. Stops fair. New tires. Wheels are 68 or so vintage. No caps or rings. Still has single exhaust, but it needs replaced. Windshield is cracked. The car is NOT a driver the way it is even though it does move under its own power. I drove it on the back road and it drives fine. However, the car is partially disassembled. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, FEEL FREE TO ASK. I HAVE LOTS OF PHOTOS AVAILABLE. Don't assume anything! Car is being sold as is. No warranty of any kind. It does have a clear title. SHIPPING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. I CAN STORE FOR UP TO 6 MONTHS. Might be able to deliver so some areas for expenses...mainly Midwest or Western states. Ask before bidding! thanks On May-13-12 at 09:23:19 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer a few of your questions... 302 that is currently installed came from a late 70's Ford Fairmont. It runs and drives...might just need a tune up and some fresh gas. Auction includes a 302 that is supposedly the original, but I know nothing about the condition of it. Engine compartment doen't look bad. Has original radiator, fan shroud, etc. C4 automatic works good...I didn't say that it slips...I said that it seeps (as in meaning that it probably needs a pan gasket and new front and rear seals...it LEAKS slightly) Has power steering, manual drum brakes. Windshield is cracked....all other glass is good. Window stainless trim is all there and it is good I have the taillights, bezels, and quarter extensions. Rear bumper is driver quality..not bad, but not great. I am including a NOS genuine Ford rear valance. Front valance is rough. No grille, no hood trim. Trim around headlights is dented. Floors have never been patched nor do they need to be except for very small area on drivers floor in one of the ribbed areas. Probably could be fixed with a mig welder and no patch. Both doors have small spot of rust in lower rear corners. As stated before, lower right quarter is the worst part of the car. I did notice body filler cracking in the left door. There is nothing wrong with the body that even a so so body person couldn't repair. I wasn't the person that primered it nor do I have a crystal ball to see under the primer. I have 30 plus years experience as a body repairman, and I can tell that there is nothing alarming "hiding" under the primer.. thanks
