Vehicle Detail
I had this on Ebay but the car wasn't running right so I ended the listing. I took the car to a mechanic in town. He said the carburetor needed to be rebuilt, also while we were checking that, the vacuum advance on the distributor wasn't working. The car has a 383 Chrysler motor in it (that is the original motor) it has a 4 barrel Carter AFB. Since we were rebuilding the carburetor we decided to blow all the old gas out of the lines. When we got back to the gas tank we discovered that the pick-up tube in the tank was almost plugged, so we dropped the gas tank completely cleaned the inside of the tank, bead blasted the pick-up tube and reinstalled. I couldn't buy just the vacuum advance so I had to buy a rebuilt distributor. Since we had done this much to the car I went ahead and put on a new distributor cap and new plug wires. The car runs GREAT now..so I am re-listing it. I purchased this car from an old boy from Salina, KS. He bought it in 2004 from the original owner. There was a receipt in the glove box from Wal-Mart for 4 new tires that he purchased in 2004 and it shows the mileage at that time for 61630 in now has 61827. He only put 197 miles on this car. He only drove it in parades. I also found a piece of paper in the glove box that the original owner kept track of the dates that he used to start the car. On the back of a blank check he wrote started and ran engine: April 1983, June 1987, October 1995, March 1996, October 1998, October 2002, July 2004. The car has been repainted and I can see some body work has been done on the lower quarter panels but it is a very solid original car. The interior is gray but the seats are covered with blue seat covers. You can tell these seat covers have been on there for a very long time.Where the seat covers have a small rip, I have pulled it back, and the original seat appears to be in good shape, but I am going to let the new owner decide to pull off the seat covers or leave the on. The last time it was drove was in 2008. The car drives good, shifts good, and the brakes are good. It has new exhaust under it but where it hooks up to the header pipe it has a slight exhaust leak. I have a clear title. The seller signed the title, but we left the buyer open, so whoever buys this car will be the third owner. If someone wants to buy it outright call me at my home#: (785)745-2505 or my cell#: (402)746-8260 or if you have any other questions. The car is located 6 miles south of Red Cloud, NE so if you purchase the car and can't get it shipped right away or can't come and get it that is not a problem it can stay here as long as need be because I have plenty of room. Thanks Dave
