Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is my beloved 1977 MG. I have been the proud owner since 10/09, purchased from a private owner and to my knowledge, only the second. The mileage is low and it has been well maintained as far as regular maintenace (oil changes, routine inspections, baths and such.) It passed inspection without incident September 2011. I am no longer able to properly care for her, nor do I have the desire! My former husband enjoyed tinkering with her, but I have no knowledge of such things, so please understand that I can only to answer your technical questions to the best of my ability. It would appear the car was originally painted red. The previous owner gave it the current paint job which I would call "cheddar cheese, navy stripe, and red stripe." The top was already replaced when I purchased it, but the boot was missing. Also missing were the sun visors. There is a small tear in the top, behind the driver door, where it got caught in the framework when it was opened carelessly. It sports aluminum trim rings on the wheels, and the rims are color-coordinated. There is no major rust, just a few surface spots and chips that you would expect from a car of this age. Included is a full size spare and a temporary spare. I've read that many of these have rusted floor pans and trunk liners, but this one does not. I would surmise the engine is typical of this model in that the wiring is all crazy-like! Everything is in working order, however, and she starts right up! The clock works, but only if you turn it on and reset it each time. I never used it for fear of leaving it on and draining the battery. I've taken her on long drives through the Carolina Mountains, the beach, and all 'round town. It is a blast to drive, frugal at the gas station, and extremely inexpensive to insure. If you are a North Carolinian, you will not be required to have any more inspections. Near 30 mi. to the gallon and no oil leaks. Other than adding fresh tires and sound system when I got it, it really hasn't required any major repairs. If you are looking for a fun little ride this is it! I am starting with a low opening bid to encourage ALL offers. Whether you want a project car, parts car, or an as-is get-in-'n'-go vehicle this is the one you've been waiting for! I am selling it as is and would encourage you to ask questions and/or get an independent inspection before you buy. You will be responsible for pickup and/or shipping. On May-03-12 at 01:04:17 PDT, seller added the following information: fungalica Store
