Vehicle Detail

1957 Ford F-350 1 Ton 4X4 Ahhhh the truck of trucks. Ive had this truck for a few years now and keep threatening to restore it. Truth is I just havent got the time and there is one other project ahead of it. Im not desperate to sell it but I would like to see it go to someone who can make the time to do the right job and bring this truck back to its glory. This is an ex fire company truck, the company was Mount Lodge Fire Co in NY. Ive spoken with one of the members who recalls this truck and has some great stories to tell of it when it was in service. basically what we have here in this truck is this, its a 57 1 ton 4X4, the chasis conversion was done by NAPCO. In 57 Ford was working with MH on the lighter duty trucks but NAPCO did the few 1 ton and larger trucks for Ford at the time. What we see today in the 4X4 era of trucks past is mostly Chevy/GMC/Studebaker and a couple others. When has anyone seen an original Ford from 57 that was 4X4? Not me but I did here of one selling recently in Nevada that needed just as much work as this truck. Bottom line of details; Ford F-350 4X4, 4 speed, 514 gears, NAPCO conversion, PTO is mechancal, front mounted winch (does work), 9 foot bed (exclusive to the few 350's that were produced), 272 Y block, brakes done front to back by previous owner, tires are radial which I replaced due to the original tires being so poor in condition. This truck has under 10K miles on it, rediculous but thats what these fire trucks have typically. The truck works, runs great and everything is in working order. What the truck needs is to be taken apart, some meatal repairs to be made, Id replace all the seals and gaskets but keep as much original as possible. It needs to be restored or at the very least if your a rat rod cruisin kind of person, repalce the hoses and fan belt and keep it greased up as much as possible.
