VOLKSWAGEN2.5 automatic Great old van that is rust free and can serve as an excellent platform for a camper or weekender. It was used to haul cardboard boxes, so there are no rear seats with the vehicle. Band new transmission mount. Starts and runs as it should. German engineering delivers great mileage, solid feeling ride. THE PROBLEMIt is common that these transmission go out, and like any car this age, this is not any different. After all, it is a 1993. It drives out great, and now more than 60% of the time, this transmissions gets hung or stuck in third and won't shift into overdrive on the freeway. You can drive it around town just fine, but on the HWY it feels like to is revving high. Basically, it will need attention. I have not flushed it or been able to look into any other adjustments. We did have a new shift cable installed, that was no help either. The work was performed by a local Norcross shop.The van sits on 18 inch custom rims. One however was damaged and I have not been able to find a replacement. So, three are the same and one is a factory audi rim. You can still drive it anywhere, but it will need to be on 4 normal wheels at some point. As you can see in one of our pics its missing a rear bumper section. It can be stored here for 30 days with no insurance or security guaranteed from the date of the auction end. The bargain begins at only $1495!
