Despite that, the car is very clean. There are a few minor scratches to the paint on the outside and I just had the inside detailed in prep for the sale. I have all the maintenance and repair records for the car since I bought it in 2006. I scanned the last 3 repair/service receipts for your review (send a request by e-mail and I’ll reply with an attachment). Current State: The car comes with two keys plus the valet. The oil has just been changed and the tags are good until August 2012. The engine runs great. The timing belt, fuel pump, and thermostat have all been replaced in the last year. As the repair was performed by a VW dealer there is a 1yr/12,000 mile warranty. The battery has also been replaced in the past year. The battery itself says 75 month warranty, but I do not think it will be honored as this battery was already replaced for free once. However, the proper year and month of installment are marked on the battery so you can try and get it replaced for free if it dies before November 2017. Deficiencies: The left rear door lock is sticky. The cargo compartment cover is missing. The housing for the passenger sideview mirror has a crack (just the housing, not the mirror itself – see picture, look below and to the right of the “R” on the mirror, the white line on the housing is the crack). Handle to the glove compartment comes off (it sill works, though). According to the mechanic (as you can is the service PDF), the following is in need of attention: Tie rodsBrake pads & rotorsTiresVacuum hose My personal opinion: Great car! It’s both compact but has plenty of cargo room. It can fit my 26” mountain bike easily (check the picture). Such a great combination in that it’s black 5-speed wagon with tint. The one thing I don’t like about the design is the cup holder which blocks the CD player. This is a great car for someone with a lot of activities; you can fit all your equipment inside the vehicle and the tint conceals it. Payment: Cash is accepted.
