CALL CHAD WITH ANY QUESTIONS AT 973-277-4742 OR EMAIL ME AT ckr1@aol.com Up for auction is our rare 2000 Lime Green Corbin Sparrow (#158) with low miles. The VIN is 1C9TS1201YH737158. It was built by Corbin Motors and has been in our collection for the last 8 years. This Sparrow is a highway legal- production vehicle (it is not a kit car) built in Hollister, California. It is one of 285 ever built and one of 185 Pizza Butt models. This Sparrow was not used as a daily driver, but was a “toy” for us and was taken to many car shows by us throughout the years. I have never driven it in the rain or snow and it has always been taken care of. We bought this Sparrow with 2,815 miles from the original selling dealer, Spitfire Motors, in Seattle Washington. It now has 3,657 original miles (may change slightly if I drive it). (The last Sparrow on ebay went for $8500 with 7800 miles on April 17, 2012. It was item # 110861212760) We enjoyed this Sparrow so much that back in 2004, we created a website dedicated to the Sparrow so others could gain information on them. Google “Corbin Sparrow” and my website will be on the top. It’s www.corbinsparrow.com We own several collector cars that include 2 Sparrows. We have decided to sell this one since we don’t get to use all our cars as much as we would like to. This Sparrow comes with a with a clean N.J. title in my name. It is currently registered and insured and runs great. I just moved it back to my home in Totowa, NJ 07512. As part of this auction, I am including spare electrical / mechanical parts (as seen in the photos) removed from an undamaged Sparrow with 900 original miles (I did not unwrap every item for photographing- major parts I unwrapped to show). They include pretty much all the major components to keep your sparrow on the road. These parts are valued at approximately $5000 alone, and are believed to be fully functional. However, I did not test each of them prior to auction. They were from a Sparrow that was parked that the owners let the batteries sag and the pack was never replaced. The spare parts include: 1. Complete rear swing arm with: a. Spare V8 Chip ***SEE SHIPPING RELATED INFORMATION BELOW REGARDING THESES PARTS!!!*** As with all of our collector vehicles, this Sparrow has been stored under a California Car Cover Company “Superweave” car cover custom made specifically for this Sparrow. The $340 Superweave cover is one of the best covers available on the market and will also be included with the auction. Although this Sparrow has not been driven as a daily driver, we have been very careful about taking care of the batteries. We have never driven the sparrow below 156 volts (it can actually be driven down to about 134 Volts without damage). It has never been driven in extreme heat or cold and I have never stressed the batteries by rapid acceleration. I have left the batteries on the Zivan V9 float charge or opportunity charged them every few weeks. It is on its second pack that was replaced about 500 miles and several years ago. During that pack change, we added “Ed ANG” battery regulators to protect the pack from any potential overcharge that may occur. And, although the batteries are not brand new anymore, they still hold a decent charge. (Resting voltage is roughly 162-163 volts.) However, just as any car battery can fail at any time I cannot warranty them. (It should be noted that should a battery fail, you do not necessarily need to replace the whole pack, but you could just replace the failed battery.) This Sparrow is still in beautiful condition. The original paint gleams in the light. However, it does have the common Sparrow fiberglass imperfections on the front bumper and cover that are minor spider cracks (many sparrows have this- I think they torqued the mounting bolts too tight during assembly). These imperfections were on it when I bought it and have not changed in the last 8 years. Also, the analog amp gauge sometimes does not register, however, the on board e-meter shows the digital amp readings so I have never bothered to address it. This Sparrow charges utilizing the onboard Zivan charger and a regular household 110 outlet. It has power windows, tilt wheel, am/fm/cd (Sparrow are not known for good radio reception) and heat. Although this is a beautiful condition Sparrow and I have nothing to hide on it, since everyone’s opinions are different, please contact me (973-277-4742) before bidding to make an appointment to come see it. I do not think you will be disappointed. Corbin Sparrows are 100% electric, utilizing 13 common 12-Volt Optima deep cell batteries for a total of 156 volts. They are fully street legal and are titled, registered and insured as motorcycles. They can go up to 75 mph. This Sparrow is referred to as a “pizza-butt” as the backend was designed to carry pizzas for the Dominos Pizza chain. **************************************************************************************************** AS FAR AS SHIPPING GOES: I am not responsible to get the Sparrow and spare parts to you or for pay or arrange for any shipping. It looks like no other street legal vehicle and people of all ages love them. They get more interest and attention than most of the other street rods/collectable cars that we own. In your state you may or may not need a motorcycle license endorsement. In most states, such as mine, you do not need a motorcycle endorsement due to the fact that the Sparrow is fully enclosed, drives like a car, rides on three wheels, and has automotive style controls and seatbelts. Therefore, a Sparrow is exempt.
