Up for auction is a 1992 Buick Roadmaster Sedan, Limited Edition VIN #: 1G4BT537XNR459539 Story of the Hoopty-Ride. I purchased this vehicle from the little old lady who drove it off the lot in 1992 with only 6 miles on it. She was so proud that she had just had it painted recently the same color because it had faded some (I wished I had found it prior to her painting it, because that was $1000.00 I could have saved). I bought the car to carry my grand-kids around, but found that I need a van instead. I took it to a local dealership to trade it in and they only wanted to give me $3,000.00 for it. They put it up on the racks and went over it with a fine tooth comb. They started out only wanting to give $1800.00 and each time I would get up to walk away they would come back with another offer, until they got up to $3000.00 as their final offer. They made the mistake of letting me know that the General Manager wanted it for his own collection. Anyway, that is what I am starting this auction at $3000.00 and NO RESERVE. I purchased the vehicle with 49,300 miles on it and it now has 53,300 on it (picture shows 52,000). I have had the oil changed and inspection good through 2/13; AND it has started every time, whether it sits for a couple weeks or driving it daily. The car drives like a dream; it will cruise down interstate at 85 mph and just hummmm…. ( I drive a little Honda, when not carrying babies, and really impressed with the power). I will state below everything that I know is wrong with the vehicle: · Back passenger window does not go down. The little old lady who had it previous has black electrical tape over the driver’s button. And I tried it, it does not work. · Driver’s side window will at times (not all the time) take it’s time going back up. · The oil pressure gage jumps around. The mechanic says no problem, just gage. · The sound when playing a cassette will go up and down by itself (although, it could be the old cassette tapes that I play). · Head liner around the back glass is loose and a bit tattered. · A few of the button caps on the driver seat are missing. These are the buttons that adjust the seat. The buttons are still there and operate, but missing the shinny caps. · Driver’s seat has been re-sewn in about a 5 inch spot by previous owner. · One wheel cover has some dents and scratches on it due to trying to park to close to something, also done by previous owner. · A small (4 inch) piece of molding is missing from behind one of the front wheels. The molding is in the glove box, just needs to be glued back on. · The two buttons over the horn are loose, but still there. Now that I have told you about all the little ghosts up front and the fact that the V-8 Engine does not have the best gas mileage in the world, this car touts a comfortable ride.
