Vehicle Detail
1968 Mercury CougarI bought this as a project car but then had to leave the state for work. I like this car because it a one of the smaller cougars, and has the hideaway lights! Unfortunately, I have four vehicles, I am relocating, and this one has to go. It is a project car and as such there are too many "problems" to list. They do say a picture is worth 1000 wards though so please take a look. If you are around Milpitas, CA we can also arrange for you to come see it. The body is in good shape. Overall I think it is a good project. It has no motor, no transmission, and as you can see it is missing may other things as well. I believe this was a 289 manual car but I am not 100% sure. I will note some more of the major items: the floorboards should be replaced, there is a good amount of rust on the bottom from when the car spent some years sitting in a field, the front seats need new upholstery and padding, the back window is not secured in place and may not ship great distances well, (I can tape a plastic bag over it for weather but that is not great either), the headliner needs replacing, and the dash does too... as well as many other things.. You are bidding on what you see here. The brakes don't work and the buyer is responsible for arranging a professional car mover to get it out of my garage (which has a slope so you can't just roll it out super easy considering there are no brakes). I can try to help with this but if you do have me move it to the street at my convenience (on a weekend if/when I can get enough friends together) it can't legally stay there as it is registered non operational. Not that it matters in the current state that it is in but I believe I am the third owner and have a record of the car being in California in 1970. There is no reserve. I may not be able to answer all of your questions but please feel free to ask. Happy bidding.
