Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1965 Ford Mustang with power steering. I have owned this mustang since 1994. VIN # 5T07T145892 DECODED 5= 1965 T=METUCHEN NJ 07=HARDTOP T=200 1BBL 6CYL ENG 145892=UNIT NUMBER It has a clean & clear nys registration. Pre 1975 vehicles in nys use registrations in place of titles. The mustang had a lot of work done to it & has a lot of new parts that go with it. but first the story behind it. Every car has a story & here is this one. Back in 1994 a former coworker of mine had wanted to buy a new project car but his wife had told him no, since he already had too many projects & didnt know how to work on them. His wife finally agreed but first he had to get rid of the old blue ford that was broken down in her driveway so that she could get her parking space back. I had done some work on one of his other cars, & he offered to sell me the broken down ford in his driveway figuring that I could strip it & use some of the parts off of it. I did not know that it was a mustang. I went to his house & got the car started & told him that he could sell it for more, but he just wanted the price that he had asked me & wanted the car gone that day so that he could get his wife off of his back & get his new project. The car was still registered & he loaned me the plates to it & i drove the mustang back to the Bronx where I lived. The car was complete when I drove the car back to the Bronx. I liked the car & wanted to do it completely over & make it nice. I had a guy that was doing all the bodywork, welding & paint for me so we took the car apart & started working on it. I had new inside fender aprons installd on the drivers & passenger side, drivers & passenger side full floor pans installed, drivers & passenger new lower rear quarter panels, new cowl vent collars & covers installed on both sides, drivers & passenger rear trunk rails, inside trunk covers on both sides & trunk drop off sections. I installed a rebuilt starter & new seleniod box. I have 4-four hole aluminum rims for it, 3- extra ford mustang hubcaps,3 extra tailight sockets, 4 old side 1/4 panel emblens. I bought a new 65 mustang owners manual, new gas tank filler neck hose, new tailight gaskets, new door panel clips. I have Brand new still in the box brake hardware, fuel filter, oil filter, floor plugs, sill plate & moulding screws, chrome door handle, lt blue headliner chrome quarter panel side ornament, chrome armrest with blue armrest pad. I have both the cardboard & plastic heater duct plenums. The car is a project & needs to be put back together. I have most all pieces except for the carpet & front & rear windshield mouldings. My friend was finishing painting the car but then his health got bad. The whole car was painted & buffed except for the nose & that is why it looks dull. Once he got sick, the car got put on the back burner for a while. He got better but then moved to florida with his family so the car was still on the back burner & i had moved on to other projects. I moved to a smaller yard & now, the mustang was parked outside under a cover for years. I still liked the car & didnt want to sell it, so there it sat. The cats in the yard, rain, sun, snow, wind & broken covers took a toll on the car. It still shines & looks good at a distance but real close up you can see like chicken pops bumps on the trunk lid & top of car & a little on the top of 1 fender. There is no radio in it & the padded dash was removed since it was cracked & dry rotted. It is a project & needs work, but it is still a pretty nice car. I have too many projects & know that i will not get to it, so I may as well let it go to someone who will fix it up. It has good P205/75R14 tires & they are all full of air. All of the glass is good & not cracked. the pass rear quarted glass needs to be reinstalled. front & rear windshields ned the rubber mouldings. The rear rubber brake line has a hole in it & needs to be replaced. The car is being sold, as is where is with no guarantiees or warranties. If in the Bronx Hunts Point area, you are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look over the car. I do not have a but it now but will listen to all offers. Please ask any & all questions as soon as possible to give me time to get back to you with an answer. If you have less than 10 positive feedbacks, then please contact me before you bid on any of my items, otherwise I will cancel your bid & block you from all of my future auctions. I will also soon be listing a 2004 2 door chevy cavalier, 1930 ford, 1964 belair station wagon & a 1966 2 door chevelle so please check back. Additional info to add thanks to a former bidder. This car is a project . Not a major project but still a project. It would make a great classic daily driver. It does need some work. You have to be mechanically inclined or be willing to pay someone to fix it for you. It is an old rare car that with some work will be a very nice car. If you dont know how to change a tire, this car is not for you, if you dont know how to do body work or paint, this car is not for you, if you want a perfect car, then this car is not for you, if your not sure that your income tax check will be here within 7 days, then this car is not for you, & most importantly you are bidding to win to buy the car as a project to own it & not to just win the bid to be allowed to come look at it. Come & look at the car before the auction is over. I am selling the car as is where is with no guaranties or warranties. NOW FOR THE SCAMMERS:::::::: I will not accept your third party check & give you back the balance. If you want the vehicle for your client, then you buy it & sell it to them. Once you buy the car, you can ship it to where ever you want as long as you first pay for the car in full & then pay for all the shipping charges. A 200.00 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the auction end. The deposit can be paid via paypal. The balance will be paid by cash (at pick up only) , postal money orders or certified bank checks but the money orders & checks must first clear my bank before the vehicle is released.
