Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1992 Honda Civic Si with 62040 original miles. This car is bone stock and has no modifications. It is the same as when it came from the factory in 1992. I have owned this car for a short while although I have been searching for one with this color combination and condition for about 10 years. My reason for purchase was to modify this car with a bigger engine, better suspension, etc, but my obligations since then have changed and I've decided to sell it. I am the 3rd owner of this vehicle and it comes with a bunch of maintenance records since new. I paid a premium for this car and I expect to sell it similarly, so if you are interested, please bid. What sets the Civic Si apart from the factory and makes it quite a bit more rare then the inferior models are, cruise control, A/C, power sunroof, power mirrors, 4 wheel disc brakes, driver side airbag, and its sporty 125 HP motor. What sets this Civic Si apart from any other I have ever seen is the impeccable condition it is in. There is no rust on this vehicle, the paint shines beautifully, and it gets 33/37 MPG!!! Mechanically, this car is a 10 out of 10. I have put close to 2000 miles on it under my short ownership and it runs and drives absolutely perfect. There are no mechanical flaws, every feature works as it should. The clutch is good, the transmission shifts smoothly, the brakes work properly, the engine runs quietly and smoothly, there are no leaks, and it goes down the road straight. The timing belt and water pump have been replaced within the last year, and I had a synthetic oil change performed about 1000 miles ago. The interior is a 9.8 out of 10. I had to take away a couple of points because the driver side door panel has a small tear from the seat belt and a finger nail size tear by the window level. The rest of the interior is flawless. The seats have no tears, the headliner, dash board, steering wheel, and trunk are all in excellent shape. The original floor mats are in the car and show very little wear. The exterior is a 9 out of 10. This car is indeed 20 years old and it not flawless on the outside. There is no rust on the car but there are a few small dings, dents and scratches in random places on the exterior. There is a ding on the roof, and passenger side upper quarter panel, as well as a few small door dings. The driver side quarter panel has a dent near the plastic molding which I attempted to show in one of the pictures. It can be seen up close if you are looking for it but I did not notice it until a few weeks of ownership. This vehicle just passed NY state inspection and if you are a NY state buyer, it is good for the next year. I again emphasize that this is a 20 year old car so it is not flawless. If you are looking for a brand new car, I suggest you go to a Honda dealership and spent $25k to buy one. This is simply an excellent example of what a 1992 Honda Civic Si should be, and I personally have not seen one in better or more original shape. I welcome inspections of the vehicle and I encourage questions. Please do not bid unless you intend on following through with the purchase. It is in very high demand and there is a very limited supply. I have seen very nice examples for upwards of $8000 and CRX's go up to $12,000. If you are inclined to make some type of offer, the worst thing I can do is say no.
