Vehicle Detail
It is a 1980 GT I’ve had it about a year now, and drive it on weekends or occasionally to work, but have not really done much with it, and now I found out I’m losing the garage that I rent for it. It is a fun to drive stick shift Volvo. This car puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. If you are looking for a GT this is a great car. It does need to be gone over to make it nice, but is an easy clean up and will do well with a few projects. This is a running and driving car not ready for the bone yard. This car will tear up the weekend autocross. It handles awesome and has great torque; both autocross musts! This is a special car, and who knows how many are left. There was only one at the Carlisle Import show last year. I’d really like to see this go to someone who loves it. Check out some of the ads that compare it to BMW and others. This car is unique and too cool! The wheels on it in the pictures are not included. You will get the original wheels. Interior is in good shape there are some small tears in the vinyl edges, but the seating surfaces condition is good. The driver’s door panel has a knick in the top at the window, and the carpet at the rear hump has some tears that can be sewed up and you will not even see them. I have never smoked in the car, and I don’t think anyone else has either. The dash has been replaced, so it has no cracks. The driver’s seat has wear in the orange stripe, but the other stripes seem to be just fine. The motor is good with no abnormal noises or leaks. I have not seen any leaks or drops on the floor. It is running rich right now, and will hiccup on the highway at about 2000 rpm. I think it has a later model meter on it, but there is another one in the spare parts. I just did not want to start turning the screw and make it bad. Clutch and overdrive are both good. There is a hum in the rear that I am not sure if it is tire noise or a bearing. I did check the fluid and it is good. I have a ton of extra stuff to go with it: Lenses, Weather-strip, engine(high compression in GT’s I’m told ), 2 transmissions with O/D’s, steering rack, strut and knuckle, gaskets, intake and exhaust manifolds, Fuel Meter Bodies, Hood Cable, A/C parts (car never had A/C), heater control, starter, alternator, cluster, driveshaft, head and engine block, Crank Bearings and misc. engine Internals, engine gasket sets, exterior black trim, interior trim, door sills, distributor, electrical parts and relays, starter, door mirrors, rotors… take a look at the pictures. As I clean out the garage, I’ll add any other stuff I can find. All the parts are a great start to keep the car on the road for many more years, and perfect for a 240 enthusiast. The parts make it work the price of buying the car. It does have some rust. It is 32 years old. I am not a body guy, but was willing to take this on. The rear wells and doors are the worst of it. There is also some rust on the rockers that is bubbling up. The rest looks like it is manageable and can sanded out. There are a few dents on the drivers fender, but other than that I don’t think that I have seen any. I’ve tried to give you a good real representation of the car. It is not perfect, but is pretty easy project, and will end up a great little car. The pros of this car outweigh the cons, and the spare parts are a bonus. As I said I will be keeping the wheels in the pictures and you will get the original wheels. There is no warranty on the car. It’s old, but has been reliable for me. Plus, with all the extra stuff you should be able to keep it going strong. If you have questions or want to talk to me about the car call me at 717-919-2508 (not after 9 pm eastern please), or come see the car in person. I’m open to helping you ship the car if you need, but know nothing about what it takes, so you will have to research that and set it up. Plus, the extra stuff will fill an S-10 bed, so I don’t know how to ship all of that. I’d prefer local pickup. Vehicle must be picked up by the end of April. I know it’s short notice, but I am losing the garage, and must sell it quick. PayPal deposit of 200.00 is required within 24 hours of auction close. The balance is due in cash at pick up. If for some reason this does not work for you and you have another idea contact me and we can talk about it. Thanks for looking!
