Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my donor 1995 Volvo 850. My project is done and I need to clear out my garage for the next project. The Story on this car....... Started its life in Indianapolis as an executive vehicle. Apparently it ended up in Illinois for a time which is news to me. Was then sold to a woman in northern Indiana who drove it for several more years who then sold it to her college age daughter. Sometime before the daughter titled the car in her name the odomometer broke (the odo shows 187867, I believe actual mileage is closer to 220000-I have removed the odo but its still available-I have no idea why the report shows no issues with the odo-I am here to say it is broken and has been broken for several years). The car resided in Ft Wayne Indiana until I bought it and hauled it to Indianapolis in November 2010. I drove it for about a month before I garaged it in Dec 2010 and began taking it apart to revive my lower mileage 850. It was last started in the spring of 2011. Its now completely dead-you turn the key and nothing happens. What's left.... The turbo charged engine is pretty much intact except for anything between where the fan/shroud was and the front bumper (see pic). Suspension components are all there with the exception of the rear shocks. Fuel pump and sending unit are there. Mechanics of A/C system is untouched. Airbags and related components are all there (even the front shoulder seat belts)-nothing has been discharged. All window / sunroof glass are in place. Door locks (mechanics thereof) and window actuators are all there. Steering wheel and column components are all there. Two front bucket seats with worn covers (missing frames, lumbars, and metal mounting bases), a bench back seat with not as worn covers (missing arm rest and side trim pieces) are in the car. Vehicle comes with one key that fits the ignition and four doors, but not the trunk full of plastic interior trim (lock is gone from the trunk). Then there is the timing belt. I was last replaced at 143k in 2004-its beyond time for a new one (though upon my recent removal of the belt cover I found that the belt was in surprisingly good shape with no cracks or breaks). What's not...attached.... Interior is pretty much stripped to the metal (any electric component-unless specifically mentioned-are gone), relays are gone, interior lights are gone, carpet is gone. All electric motors (including any seat motors) are gone. All exterior lights/reflectors and badging are gone. Wheel wells are gone. Front fenders are gone. Front & rear bumpers are gone (a beat up silver front bumper cover and front absorber are inside the car, as well as two rusted out bumper mounts). Wipers and motor are gone. Weather stripping is gone. Hood has been replaced with a dented up silver Volvo hood-original hood is gone. All grilles are gone. No headliner, dash board, switches, grab handles, vents, or glove box/insert. No mirrors. Upper engine mount is gone as well as any horn components. Two of the four alloy wheels are gone. Vehicle rolls on four tires (two spares and two factory rims). Vehicle will come with two barely used Douglas 205 55 R16 tires loose inside the car. What's not...working... Engine is not running at the moment (was running when I garaged it). Master control is gone so there is no way to control the windows. There is no motor for the sunroof. Antenna for the radio doesn't work. The struts are worn out. The passenger side cv boot is split open. The tires on the car need replaced. This is a parts car, its not being sold as a running street going car. The auction.... If you are looking to own a Volvo 850 parts car for engine, A/C, or suspension components from a clear title donor car this is the one for you. I can assist with shipping once arrangements are made-car will have to be trailered. Payment for the vehicle (if winning bid is $500 or less) is to be made through PayPal within 48 hours of the end of the auction. I am shopping this car around locally to salvage buyers so if you are interested bid early as it could end any time. And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE email me with any questions if you want to confim something before you bid. I I realize this vehicle may only appeal to a few folks-hence shopping it around while the auction is ongoing. I am not a dealer, just a person that has made a hobby out of owning a Volvo. My auctions are straight forward and fair (just check my sales history and feedback). There are no buyer/bidder fees to this auction. Thanks for viewing!
