Normal 0 Here we have a one owner 1987 Ford F150 2WD. This truck has the bulletproof inline six fuel injected engine. It has a four speed manual transmission. This truck only has 61,000 original miles! This is a fantastic shape truck that I picked up for my son from the estate of the original owner. I proceeded to completely restore this truck back to better than showroom new never realizing that my son does not really want to drive a stick as his first truck. I probably should have thought of that before I did all this work. Anyway, we had fun doing it but now we have to sell it since I don’t need another truck even though I have been driving it daily and loving it. Basically I went through this truck from top to bottom. It was in very good shape to start with since it only has 61,000 miles. First was body and paint. The body was in very good shape. The only rust was over the tops of the wheel wells which is typical of these Fords. Proper patch panels were bought and welded in by a professional body guy. The paint was typical of older Fords and chalking and flaking. I had them sand it all down to primer and repaint it in the original color. The paint system we used was the more expensive base coat/ clear coat so it will last a good long time. Please keep in mind this is not a show truck and it is not perfect. There are still a few dents here and there. It is a truck after all and it is 25 years old. I wanted to do something special for the interior so out came the standard cloth bench seat and in went a perfect set of luxurious blue leather seats with center console from a 2002 Lincoln Towncar. They obviously were a custom touch but was 100% worth it. It feels like you are driving a luxury King Ranch F150 instead of a base truck. I paid over $600 for the seats alone. Oh, they are also power operated of course. We went through the truck mechanically 100% and did whatever it needed. (Remember, I thought my son was going to be driving it) This truck runs and drives 100%. It drives down the road quiet and smooth. There are no rattles at all. Same on the highway. I would say this is as close to a new 1987 truck as you can get. The truck does not leak a drop of anything as you can see that I park it on my expensive paver driveway. Underneath the truck is in very nice shape. It was undercoated when new (have original receipt) so that must be why it is so clean. Of course I had to upgrade the wheels and tires and spared no expense getting brand new General Grabber AT tires with polished aluminum truck wheels. I think they make the truck look mean and aggressive. Most people think it is a 4WD since it is lift a bit in the front just to level it out. Almost $1700 in wheels and tires. There are a couple of minor things that I have not gotten to yet. The truck has air conditioning but it does not blow cold. I have not had a chance to look at that yet. The truck has dual tanks that are fine and clean. The rear tank gas gauge does not register. Good luck bidding. I do have the truck listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction if sold.
