One of the most imaginative cars of an imaginative decade, it took off for the heavens in looks --It was the year of wraparound windshields, tubeless tires, flying saucer wheel discs, and more options, vivid colors, and flashy two-tones than a month of Canadian sunsets. Little wonder that Ford's smart new Crown Victoria was to become a classic symbol of the times, if not one of the year's hottest sellers. Road tester Tom McCahill, writing in Mechanix Illustrated, called it "loaded with more saleable angles than a shipload of Marilyn Monroes." There are over 120 pictures of this car in the eBay listing, including detailed exterior, interior, engine, trunk and undercarriage. Owned by an adult collector, this car was acquired by him through the estate of a relative and is being offered for sale only because of his advance age. Please let all the pictures load (there are over 100) to see the condition of this classic old Ford. Our knowledge of what has been done to this car is limited, this is what we do know. It is a combination of original, with some cosmetic and mechanical restoration as needed. It appears the car was repainted years ago in the original Red/White color combination. The original 272 engine and transmission have been rebuilt and new suspension components were also installed. The exterior trim and chrome are excellent, the interior seats, carpet and dash appear to have been redone at some point and are in great shape. The frame, floor and trunk pans are in very good condition, but it will need new front body mounts on both sides. Vin # U5FW242398 DATA PLATE: Body Color Trim Production Code 64-A RE L 22 G7 The lights, signals, gauges, wipers even the radio are fully operational and the car runs and drive fine. This is a perfect example of a 20 footer and is a good candidate for a full restoration. Please remember that this car is 57 years old and not perfect. The paint is older and does have some visible flaws, it will need new front body mounts, the drivers window is cracked and there is a hole in the drivers seat back where a spring pushed through.
