Up for bid is a very nice 76 Trans Am in serious need of restoration. I bought the car 6 years ago to restore but it just hasn't happened. When I bought it I drove it 300 miles home and parked it for about a year. Then I decided to tear it down and get it ready to restore. Every piece was removed and the top end of the engine was removed. Then it sat in my garage for another 5 years. Finally I decided this project was not going to happen so I had a friend put the car back together in a quick sort of way. I wasn't worried about how things fit and lined up as I am selling it to be restored not driven. The Exterior: The body is in good condition will little noticable rust with half the paint stripped. The floor pans have only surface rust as does the trunk. The engine and transmission ran great when I purchased the car. It is the 400 with th automatic. Not sure on numbers matching. The main problems I came up with are it needs a new Main Header and Radiator Support , the right front fender has some serious rust that can be seen from the inside of the fender. There are other small issues that will need to be dealt with as you would with any restoration. Interior: Good floor boards, all plastic in good shape. Rear seat in great condition as is driver seat. Needs carpet, passanger seat, console and headliner. Dash is cracked. Right window assembly was bent in the tear down. All windows and chrome are in great shape. If you want a Trans Am to restore this is it. It's going to require more than a paint job and currently is not drivable but well worth the money. I wish I had the time but I am going to buy one already done. It only took me 5 years to figure this out. This is an "AS IS" sale with no warranty of any kind. Buyer is responsiblefor all delivery costs but I would be happy to store the car for a resonable amount of time. Feel free to come look at the car if you would like. I require a $250 non-refundable deposit via Pay Pal within 24 hours of auctions end and balance via check or money order. Once check has cleared my bank account I will release the title. (I have a clear CA Title in Hand - Car is on Non-op so no back fees)
