This was THE car back in it's day. It was built to go head to head with the Chevrolet Corvette, Toyota Supra, Nissan 300ZX, Mazda RX-7, and Acura NSX. Originally, these sold for over $40K! 1992 was a good year for the cars, as they later discontinued the Active Aero. This feature deploys a rear spoiler and front lip that would emerge at 50mph and retract at 30mph automatically (still works great!). They also later discontinued the Electronically Controlled Susupension, which allows you to change from a soft touring setting to a sport mode which firms up for spirited driving. Also of note, this is not like most 3000GT / Dodge Stealth cars on the road. This is the VR4! Not only do you not get these gadgets on the base model cars, nor the AWD, but you also don't get the TWIN TURBO's! It was a college girl's car. There are no modifications, it's all original, down to the factory airbox and radio. (I just found out I can play music from an MP3 player right into the original radio!!!). Needs a little attention and tune up to get it back to it's original glory. The tachometer, fuel gauge, driver side window are not currently operational. The window just needs a new regulator, which should be under $100 on eBay, and half an hour worth of turning a screwdriver and wrench. I replaced the passenger one not too long ago, and it was an easy fix about on par with the difficulty of changing a tire. There is also what i suspect to be a vacuum line or wastegate issue that is causing the car to boost above 10psi, which is higher than stock. And i think the tires could be replaced since they are a little old, and might be out of balance. I'm working on getting those things sorted, but I would like to put this up for sale first since, I can usually only make time to work on the car once or twice a week. I just got in an accident with my daily driver, and I need to sell this to get a new car. This is a great deal for anyone that has wanted one of these but can't find one that hasn't been modified, abused, or overpriced. By the way, I can't say this is the best "first car" for someone, because it is pretty fast.
