About this Crown Victoria Police Interceptor: This one-owner, LOW MILEAGE 2003 Ford Crown Victoria P71 Police Interceptor Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is in EXCELLENT condition as the actual mileage is ONLY 54,194 miles. The Auto Check rating score is 76 above range! This vehicle was previously used by the State of Texas and is not a typical used up municipal car. This car runs on CNG only. NOT bi-fuel. This vehicle and its CNG system has been fully checked out by CNG AutoMotors here in Phoenix, filled up multiple times and is ready to go! The CNG system works as designed! The fuel nozzle has been replaced by CNG AutoMotors due to leak. CNG AutoMotors is willing to answer any questions on this car. FULL DISCLOSURE UPFRONT (VERIFIED by CNG Automotors): The CNG system is working as designed. As a CNG conversion, this CNG system is EPA certified but not CARB certified. For EPA states only, which have less rigorous emissions testing for CNG vehicles than here in Phoenix. This likely means this car cannot be registered in most major cities and anywhere in California at all. You will need to check with your county emissions regulations to make sure this is the right car for you. If your county checks the computer system, it will read an error. If your county checks the exhaust, it will pass. For example, in Arizona only one county checks this computer reading (which happens to be the county I live in: Maricopa County). I bought this to be my daily driver due to this particular Crown Vic’s excellent condition, low miles, long range and more desirable 3600 PSI to replace my 2010 Ford Fusion but due to the rigorous emission tests here for our high pollution problem, I cannot pass emissions and register it here in Phoenix, so I am now selling it. This will be an excellent car for the next owner who lives in a place where it can be registered without having to pass rigorous emissions. Please feel free to contact me at 480-205-1348 with any questions. The CNG system holds approximately 15.3 US Gallons Gasoline Equivalent (GGE) and runs at the more desirable 3600 psi pressure for more CNG in a given tank size. 5 CNG tanks for extended range! Average CNG range approx 270-345 miles at 18-23 MPG. Tank Expiration date 6/2018! These expensive tanks will be current for a long time. 5 CNG tanks location: 3 CNG tanks in a high-rack in the trunk, which still allows for a lot of usable storage space in the trunk for groceries or luggage underneath the rack, and 2 CNG tanks stacked behind the rear axle underneath the car. This provides a lot of range in a nice, compact package. The extra space in the trunk gives you the option to fit an additional 8 gas gallon equivalent (GGE) for an additional 184 mile range if needed, which would bring the range up to 530 miles total (it doesn’t go that far right now). CNG is very economical to drive as CNG prices average $1.89 nationwide and are $1.09 in some places. See http://www.cngprices.com for additional details and CNG station locations. No evidence of any leaks since the nozzle was repaired. Vehicle Condition: The 4.6L engine starts right up, idles smoothly and quietly. On the road, acceleration & performance certainly exceeds daily driving needs. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and it is a joy to drive. Everything seems to be in good mechanical working order, the vehicle drives straight. With only 54,194 miles, both steering and suspension are TIGHT and SOLID! NO check engine light. Battery and tires are all in good and serviceable condition. There is an electrical issue in which the car will not always start but I have only experienced that once. The interior is in very good condition as well. The seats are clean, they do NOT have any rips or tears other than very slight wear (see photos). The headliner and carpet are IMMACULATE. The arctic-cold air-conditioner is factory original and blow frigid air even when the temperature is over 110. All power options (locks, windows, side mirrors, rear window defogger) are FULLY functional. The driver-side power windows assembly on the door is loose and has been rescrewed in. There are also a couple holes in the dash from police equipment, but they are minor and should be expected in a former police vehicle. Top of the steering wheel has some wear. As a P71 car, the rear doors will need the kit (about $50) to allow passengers to unlock the rear doors from the inside. No spare tire, lug wrench or the jack were in the vehicle when it was purchased. This is a used car, it has dings and other minor imperfections. I have tried to point out several of the dents on the trunk, roof, hood and front passenger door. The car was recently repainted and there is some overspray in the wheel wells, on the exhaust, a paint drip above the headlight and a couple paint drips in the front part of the hood. The spotlight has been removed from above the driver’s sideview mirror, which leaves a hole as well. This car is essentially a single owner car, with almost all the miles put on it by the State of Texas, as 2nd owner and myself have only owned it a short time and barely put any miles on it. Throughout the long history of the Crown Victoria, Ford has continuously improved it throughout that period. The 2003 model year Ford Crown Victoria received a minor redesign in the suspension, brakes, steering, and frame. The interior door panels and seats were freshened as well. The 4.6 liter engine and automatic transmission are designed to be both tough and efficient. The Police model also has beefed up drivetrain, suspension and tires. This is an American-sized car.…much better than driving around in a small-size CNG Honda. For shipping, I have had a good experience using http://www.uship.com On Mar-31-12 at 08:19:23 PDT, seller added the following information: REVISION March 31. To be clear: This is a CNG aftermarket conversion, NOT a Ford factory option. Apparently, a lot of Texas CNG vehicles were made this way.
