For Sale, 1975 Ford F150 Ranger XLT 2wd longbox dry western survivor muscle truck with rare (in a 1/2 ton) 460 motor. This is a loaded truck in the best color - black on red (one of only 626). Musclecar collectibility with truck practicality and a solid investment. Hagerty trends quarterly states the next hot market is "usable" collector vehicles for a trip to the Steak N Shake or local Cruise in, then to hardware store or coffee shop - especially 1970's pickup trucks. This rare truck is a a jump-in-and drive, ready to go cruiser. I believe this truck has only had three registered owners. Take it to the next level or enjoy as is. I'll do my best to describe this rare find below: Exterior: Original survivor with shiny, driver quality mostly original paint. Would need repaint for show duty, but for a driver it's just fine. No glaring flaws, but front of hood is pretty scratched up and it should be repainted for a presentable Cruise nite rig. Draws compliments everywhere it goes. Passenger side rear box panel was repainted - PO told me they turned a camper too sharp and dented the panel. Possible that other spots have been touched up and repainted over the years. Inside of bed is VERY straight. Dry western rig that spent it's whole life in SW Montana - we only get 10 inches of total annual moisture here in the land of the sagebrush and prickly pear cactus. No rust I can see other than some very small surface spots in front of hood and on bottom of tailgate - I can't get them to show up in pics. No rust whatsoever that I can see underneath, and I checked all the trouble spots. Original mouldings mint, windshield good, grille surround has a few dings and some buttons that were put on top edge for vinyl shield. Rare factory bumperettes. Chrome is good. Some pitting on wheel center caps. There are a couple of extra holes where a small mirror was installed on each side that have rubber plugs. Overall solid number 3 condition truck and the doors close like a bank vault! Interior: Nice survivor condition with original headliner, upholstery, door panels, carpet and dash. Shows well. Glass is all good, driver seat has small crack low on side panel, not visible with door closed. High dollar original steering wheel has the usual, repairable small cracks. Never any rodents or smokers or nasty smells. Has an aftermarket stereo. Very presentable and really needs nothing to enjoy. Mechanical: 460 Motor, trans, and 3.25 31 spline rear end are all super solid. New Edelbrock 4bbl carb, fresh tune up. Everything works. Brand new 2.5" aluminized full exhaust. With the big V8 and automatic, truck starts and runs out smooth and pulls hard. Torque like no tomorrow, and 75mph on the interstate all day long. BOTH FUEL TANKS, SWITCH AND GAUGES all work great. Has the more desirable dealer A/C (works better and easier to maintain than factory A/C) This truck is tight, no engine noises, vibrations, nothing - just sweetness. Power steering is quiet with no leaks. Tires excellent and battery is fairly new. Ready to tow with factory super big radiator and has a brake controller already installed. With the healthy exhaust, it sounds like a 70's V8 should. Underhood is clean. I encourage you to inspect the car in person or have it inspected - I will assist in any way possible. It's just an honest decent truck. I know times are tough, so the buy it now is very reasonable and the reserve is below $4k for quick sale. I tried to find a comparable truck for sale this condition, and I found most comparables in the $6k-$7k range. There is a black/red big block A/C longbox on Ebay right now and it's at $8,100. Just wanted to add that I did a walk around with a bidder on the phone today, and noticed that the tail light rings are dinged, the rest of the chrome is quite good for a 35 year old rig. (read above about grille surround). Also the new aftermarket stero was coming and going - didn't get a chance to check on it. One last thing, there is a very small spot of surface rust(looks like a chip that was left bare) on the passenger side front wheel lip. No blister or hole, just a spot to mention along with the few spots in the front of the hood and at the bottom of the tailgate. Thanks and good luck!
