Vehicle Detail
The BMW 325i Convertible was introduced with much fanfare for the 1987 model year. The car proved extremely popular with the American public and cemented BMW's position as the ultimate automotive status symbol. Based on the capable, sporty 3-series coupe, the drop top version provided solid performance and excellent driving dynamics with an added dose of open air excitement. The classic E30 body style has become an icon and is growing increasingly scarce and desirable. Presented here for your consideration is a 1987 BMW 325i Convertible. Finished in an arresting shade of red, this E30 has incredible curb appeal. Four matching "Bottle Cap" alloy wheels are wrapped in new rubber and offset the freshly detailed exterior perfectly. A BRAND NEW convertible top was professionally installed recently and includes a crystal clear rear window. New brake pads have been installed, but seem to make a very slight squeaking sound at low speeds. The leather interior is in presentable condition, and the seat bottoms have been refinished in what appears to be leatherette. The seat backs are reaching the end of their useable lifespan and will need reupholstered in the near future. The sport seats are still firm and supportive, so a decent set of seat covers may be a viable option. The carpets are in good condition and won't require any attention. The dash is uncut and uncracked and has survived exposure to the Florida sunshine. The "check control" warning lamps and lights on the dash are operating correctly and report all is well mechanically. The backlit dash and controls work properly and illuminate as intended. The temperature gauge works intermittently and a light tap on the dash will generally bring it back to life. The blower motor and vents operate properly. The AC compressor kicks on when activated, but the air doesn't blow cold. All of the air conditioning components are present, so a service should bring the system back to life. This car is equipped with power windows, and each one works properly. The power door locks seems to have been linked to a security system at some point, but the remotes are missing. The car has a tendency to lock itself upon starting. I've not tried to disable the system, but should be relatively simple. The Sony CD player in the dash looks great, but seems to be malfunctioning. The problem appears to be in the head unit and not in the dash. When it does operate, the aftermarket speakers sound excellent. The car rides and drives well, and was recently fitted with new shocks. Some chatter can be felt from the front rotors, but the car tracks straight and true and has that solid E30 feel. The body is in great shape, but does have minor blemishes associated with 24 years of daily use. Scratches, dings, chips, and scuffs aren't noticeable in the photos, but are present. Please keep in mind that this BMW is nearly a quarter century old and while it looks awesome, it is not a show piece. I would be happy to walk around the car with you on the phone or take additional photos of areas in question. There are very small rust spots present, but overall the body is in incredibly nice shape. The engine is clean and dry and does not leak oil. No undue noises or smoke mean the 2.5 liter inline six cylinder motor is in good health. The transmission shifts through all four gears and does not slip, grind or chatter. All fluid levels are where they should be and this 325 idles, revs, and sounds fantastic. In the interest of describing this handsome convertible honestly, i've tried to cover any details that may need attention. I feel I have been overly critical, but I don't expect potential buyers to be faced with any unpleasant surprises. This 325 turns heads and gets envious glances wherever it goes...I've taken into account the minor issues at hand and priced it aggressively. I am a motivated seller and have decided on a NO RESERVE auction. The high bidder will own this BMW. Please review the photos and feel free to contact me directly at 330-957-7926. My name is Ryan and I would be happy to assist you however I can. Compare similar cars, factor in the new tires, top and shocks and BID TO WIN IT!!!! Bid high and often and don't let this one get away. NO RESERVE! Car is sold AS IS. No warranty is expressed, implied or conveyed in vehicle sale. Seller reserves the right to end this auction early. I am not responsible for shipping but will assist in any way possible. I will not ship this vehicle out of the USA. This EBAY auction is a binding contract, and not a game. Please intend to own this car before bidding on it. The BMW has a clean Florida title and is garaged in sunny Jacksonville Beach, FL. I would be happy to pick you up at the airport or train station, if coming from out of state. PAY PAL is an acceptable form of payment, but I expect a buyer to add 3% to cover the service fee. I will accept certified funds or wire transfer to my Wells Fargo account. A 500 dollar deposit is required to secure the car 24 hours from the end of the auction. Please call with any additional questions...Good luck and happy bidding!!! ***THE ODOMETER HAS RECENTLY CEASED TURNING*** While this is a common problem with older BMW's, I must note that this car is being sold mileage excepmt in the state of Florida.
