Vehicle Detail

FS: 1971 Porsche 911T – ST replica. This car is sold as a roller. No engine-transmission-engine management are included. It is to be considered a project car. VIN 9111100591 - corrected VIN (sorry for the typo)Mileage unknown. The car was basically rescued long ago, built as a track car that was still street legal. It is built in the early hot-rod style but I admit that, I have taken many liberties with interpretation. The car has had quite a bit of development over the past 10 years and served as a learning platform for suspension tuning, engine building, engine management, and overall setup. It was built to drive and I admit that I drove it as intended. It is fast, yet can be driven to/from the track with little effort. It is as comfortable at the limit as it is on backroads or even the Interstate as required. The build was documented on PP. Links inserted where appropriate. Let me see if I can document everything in the build. I am sure there is something I have forgotten. Here is a summary of the car: Tub/ Body Tub was purchased as a roller with a salvage title. Tub has previous accident damage to front Passenger corner. This was poorly pulled and still shows wrinkles in front inner wheel well sheet metal. The steering tunnel is slightly compressed yet the tub aligns and corner balances with no problems. No issues in handling or setup. Has had previous rust repair including new front pan/support, lateral tank supports, new inner/outer rockers, and misc. patches installed on the car. PS battery box removed for oil cooler. Late SC fuel tank with small compact spareTank modified with center fill through hood. Center fill uses early 356 cap and mount. Center fin was welded to cap. Cap was powder coated.Roof had a big dent in it. This was pounded out and smoothed. The car went through a hail storm a few years ago and there are dings in the roof. The plan was to cut out and replace with fiberglass but never got to it. Tub was disassembled (except wiring harness) in 2002 and painted with POR15 Silver after rust repair. No issues with corrosion going forward. Center tunnel has been clearanced for installation of later 915. Would only require shifter and shift rod to complete installation. Wires are run for late electronic speedo installation. ST Project update: roll your own(long with pics) Shaved rain gutters. Painted in 936 silver metallic in 2008. It’s a garage paintjob that fit the budget at the time. Looks great from 20 feet but needs work. A new coat of color. 936 silver metallic Navy rally stripes are vinyl and easily removable. Real Cbie Pallas lights. Reproduction front Cibie Covers. Wired to headlight highbeams through relayH4 front lamps Powder coated brightwork that needs to be recoated. TX sun as faded the surface. ST Project: DIY home powder coating - tutorial on PC and doorframe restoration(pics) InteriorOG Racing bolt-in cage. The cage is bolted to hard mounting points welded to the car. There will be no seats or harness included in the car. These will go in my next project. Stock retractable seatbelts are included and functional. Seats are mounted to the floor for additional helmet clearance. Black plush RS carpet setST Project: Workin' on the inside! RS door panels from Bob at Appbiz. Custom leather pull straps to replace plastic RS pulls. Updated tachometer (late style) to match previously installed 3.0. Raid steering wheel with adjustable hub spacer. I am tall and really liked the wheel extension as it put me in a fantastic driving position. Pedal cluster built with bronze bushings. Late style gas pedal. (better angle for Heel-toe compared to early pedal). SuspensionCustom spring rate settings based on wheel loads. The car is incredibly balanced considering its lightweight front end. I spent a lot of time on rough roads getting the damping set right. The car will simply set on any type of bump with no bounce. I personally think the Koni has a softer ride than Bilsteins. This is due to the difference in gas charging and compression damping characteristics. The system, to me, is very well matched. These are a good, sticky dual purpose tire. Not as fast as a slick but will hold their own on the track once warm. The best thing about a light car is that it is easy on tires. Also have a pair of 15x8 Fuchs as spares that can be included. Performance Car weighed 2010# with a 3.2SS and short geared 901. It was extremely quick and capable. The new owner can have fun installing a new drivetrain that fits their needs. Want great street torque a 3.0 or 3.2 in stock trim works great. Want an early screamer, a 2.2 or 2.5 fits the description. All out 3.6 or 3.8 would really start to bring this car into a whole new realm. NeedsTo be stripped and painted but is fine for a track rat. Nominal rust repair required on a-pillar. The seam from welding after shaving the rain gutter has popped loose. Needs All bright-work redone. The brightwork was powder coated with “chrome” finish that looks very similar to anodized aluminum. Over the past 10 years the TX sun has discolored and faded the window frames, door handles, etc. This should all be stripped back and recoated. Really needs a good home with a new owner is not scared to get hands dirty or modify the car. There is lots of potential here and I would rather sell complete as compared with parting it out. I realize the parts are worth more if parted out. Would rather see the car taken to the next level. Please see here for more pictures. nanomansgarage.wordpress.com/1971-porsche-911st/]1971 Porsche 911ST | nanomansgarage Will help arrange shipping. Can possibly deliver car to Port of Houston for international buyers. Would depend on conditions and timing.
