Vehicle Detail
For sale is my 1968 Datsun SRL311 Roadster. I am selling it to make room for my new project. All work on the Datsun was completed at the end of 2011. A significant amount of work was performed, as can be seen in the photos. The Paint color is Dodge Viper red, done in PPG base coat/clear coat. Front and rear bumpers, as well as over riders have been re-plated at a cost of over $1000.00. Taillights and front turn signals are new Datsun parts, as are the exterior door handles, and trunk handle. All rubber seals, bumpers, and weatherstripping have been replaced. The Dash Pad has been covered with a new dash cap. All interior door panels, kick panels and rear panels are new. The carpet is also new. The seats are replacement racing seats with red contrasting stitching, with four point racing belts, also red. The AM radio has been replaced with a Mitsubishi AM/FM stereo. The convertible top is also new. The body was removed from the frame, and the frame was coated in Eastwoods ceramic chassis black. All flexible brake lines were replaced, the rear brakes have new linings and new wheel cylinders. The front brakes have been converted from the original Datsun two piston calipers to Volvo four piston. Both the brake and clutch master cylinders are new, and the system is filled with silicone fluid. The suspension was lowered 2 inches for a better look and handling, and sits on new KYB shocks, it all rides on 4 new 185/60R14 General Altimax HP tires, mounted on new VTO Classic 8 wheels. The engine has had new gaskets, new valve seals, cylinders honed and new piston rings installed. The Hitachi carburetors have been rebuilt by Paltech Industries. The transmission has not been gone through, but shifts fine, however there is a slight gear grind going into second gear. With Spring and Summer coming up, this is the perfect car for the weekend cruises or car shows. I have been as accurate as possible in describing the Datsun, however please bear in mind that the car is 44 years old and although I have rebuilt and replaced many, many things, I can not guarantee that there are no unknown issues. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail, and I will respond quickly. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. - On Mar-13-12 at 21:03:50 PDT, seller added the following information: The problem with the grinding noise going into second gear has been resolved.
