Vehicle Detail
1986 Mercedes Benz 560 SEC VIN: WDBCA45D6GA197708 73,xxx original documented miles!! The car is a Gen2 US spec vehicle, but has a full reproduction AMG widebody kit professionally installed all around with fully custom one-off European spec bumpers and European spec headlights. The car is Mercedes Benz OEM factory "Signal Red" on "Cream Mushroom" interior. This beauty has just received a full cosmetic restoration including a full paint job and newly refinished wheels. All up to date on maintenance, and runs like a charm mechanically. Mechanicals:The car starts right up every time. Engine runs strong and idles perfectly. The transmission is smooth, shifts precisely, and does not slip. The car car has never been molested or abused, and has never been modified mechanically. Meticulously maintained mechanically since new with lots of paperwork to prove. 100% accident free with a clean and clear history and title. Exterior:The car has just received a top quality full paint job in its original Mercedes Benz OEM "Signal Red" color. The car was stripped down completely; all trim, emblems, glass, bumpers, lights, etc were removed. Inside of trunk, hood, and door jambs were painted as well. The car is beautiful and very unique. Full reproduction widebody AMG kit makes this thing look mean coming down the road. All bumpers and side claddings were custom blended to give the car a very smooth and clean finish overall. All of the body work is top quality and done to withstand everyday abuse and daily use of this car if you wish to do so. This thing was built to by myself, for myself, to last. Wheels & Suspension:17" 3 piece AMG wheels made by OZ. 12" wide rears (5" outer polished lips) and 10" fronts (3.5" outer polished lips). These wheels are massive! The wheels have just been entirely refinished inside&out with the centers done in body color (Mercedes Benz OEM "Signal Red"). Brand new tires 315/35 rears and 275/40 front. The car is also lowered on H&R sport springs with the original SLS(self leveling suspension) system in perfect working order. Interior:The interior is "Cream Mushroom" and is clean but could use TLC in certain areas. The backs of the rear seats need to be reupholstered, as well as the rear deck panel (UV sun damage due to age). The front seats are a little faded and could use a dye job, however no rips or tears. The wood is cracked and peeling in certain areas and the center console piece could stand to be replaced (common problem caused by UV sun damage due to age). Door panels, dash, carpeting, and headliner are all very presentable with no problems to note. Electronics:Most importantly, all OEM electronics work perfectly (power seats, windows, sunroof, lights, locks, mirrors, climate control, instrument cluster, etc). No problems to note electronically, everything works as it should. The car has aftermarket taillights that have been "smoked" over the clear sections, inspired by the same style used on the modern AMG cars such as the SL55///AMG, etc. The headlights are the very rare (stateside) OEM European spec BOSCH units with custom painted black housings and smoked corners. The lighting on this car, both front & back, really gives this car an updated modern look, while carefully not tampering with its classic timeless styling. The bad:I like to be 100% honest about the condition of my vehicles. I do not appreciate receiving, nor giving any unexpected surprises. This car is by no means perfect, and I don't believe that any car that is 25+ years old is going to be perfect. But this car is honest, very well maintained, and has an original 73k miles -- once you drive the car there is no doubt about this. It does have its minor cosmetic imperfections, as does any car this old, specifically the interior due to years of UV sun damage. **Unfortunately the hood of this car was damaged in an unfortunate event. One day after a routine check of the oil, I closed the hood but did not fully latch it closed. Later that day, forgetting I had not fully latched the hood closed, I went to drive the car and the hood opened and bent in the very far corners. I included 2 photos that show the true extent of the damage. The hood is aluminum and is repairable, however a new(used) hood in perfect shape can be found very frequently for $100-$200 max. It would of course need to be repainted in the same "Signal Red" color as this car, but overall it is not a big deal and should not keep any true enthusiast from purchasing this vehicle. The hood still opens and closes as it should, the hinges are good, and luckily there was no other damage caused by this incident. PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE 100% READY AND WILLING TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE UPON WINNING THE AUCTION!!!!!!!!!!
