1988 Ford f150 5spd 4x4 300 inline 6 cylinder with dual fuel tanks I bought this truck on eBay a couple weeks ago and drove it 60 miles towards my home. After 59 1/2 miles the truck overheated and stopped. Turns out the radiator has a leak that was repaired with a can of stop leak. The temperature gauge appeared to work, it doesn't. After 59 1/2 miles the engine started to rattle and stopped. Now there is water in the crankcase, blown head gasket or cracked head? Not sure. I only had money to buy the truck, now I don't have any for repairs. Anyone that has used radiator stop leak knows it will only work for a few miles at best. Dumping radiator stop leak in a truck to sell it, is in my opinion crooked. I would have bought this truck knowing the radiator was bad and could have repaired it properly. Now I have a truck with a bad engine and no money for repairs. The truck will still start easily and drive. However with water in the crankcase it won't drive for long, but can be driven onto a trailer, or moved so a tow truck can hook up to it. This is what I know from my drive: It rides really good as it should. The brakes work perfectly. It stops straight without any vibration. The transmission shifts really well as does the transfer case. There are no unusual noises at highway speed. This truck will have to be towed, it starts easily and can be driven on a trailer. If the winning bidder wishes to have this truck shipped he will need to make all arrangements and pay for shipment in advance. I have a clear title. All this truck needs to be a reliable daily driver is an engine and radiator. I spent what money I had on the truck. Looking at the truck it looks like it has at least 160,000 which is what the odometer says. There is no problem with the title itself. I have a brand new Virginia title in hand. The winning bidder will walk away from this deal with the title. I was also asked about rust. The cab itself has no rust through or bubble spots. There is some light surface rust in the standard places. The bed has some rust through just above each rear wheel. These places are surprisingly small. The rest of the bed is in good shape.
