Vehicle Detail
This car is exciting to drive and draws lots of attention. The acceleration is great with 300 horsepower from a 5.0 liter engine that is geared to accelerate smoothly. The top is wonderful because it opens and closes with a simple push of a button, plus all of the components are nicely hidden like you would expect from a Mercedes. I’ve owned other convertible and I was surprised on how nice this performs. The Bose stereo system sounds great and there are lots of hidden features that come in a Mercedes. I’m selling this because I’m getting married and now I need a convertible that seats four. I bought this car because I got a great deal on it and I planned on working on it over time. I did the research and I was surprised on how much valuable information there was on how to make repairs to the car. I researched your standard parts and found that owning an import was not as expensive as I had thought. It is expensive if you take it to a dealership and an oil change will set you back a few hundred. The reality is that it takes 0-40W Mobile One Synthetic oil that can be bought at AutoZone and the oil change can be done by an average person. Brake components, charging components can be bought at AutoZone. The car doesn’t need any of these components, but I wanted to do the research just incase I needed to over time, as I mentioned, my plan was to keep this car for a long time. I’ve been driving this car for about a year now and the only real problem is that the car was involved in an accident previously and the owner never replaced the air bag. The driver side seat belt was replaced but it does lock up sometimes. I’m telling you this because the other guy that sold it to me didn’t tell me and it left a bad taste in my mouth. I have the hard top and the soft top is permanently attached. The soft top has very little wear. The paint job has some fading on the rear bumper and on top of the mirrors. There isn’t any rust on the car. The interior is in good condition with the exception of the driver side seat which has a hole worn in the left side (from getting in and out). The top works fine. It has a 6 disc factory installed CD player in the trunk and a Bose stereo system with a built in sub woofer. It has 3 storage compartments in the interior. What is nice about these is that with one turn of the key all 3 interior compartments lock. I have the chrome AMG rims on the vehicle, but there is some flaking. I’m starting the bid for what the dealer will give me as a trade in. I hope to sell it to someone that would like to experience the joy of owning Mercedes, otherwise I’ll trade it in. I’ve found some good sites that you can review. Benzworld.org is a good forum for just about anything. USArim.com has nice rims that start at $595 a set. mbpartswarehouse.com has just about anything you need. Custom parts are more available than you think. If you have any questions, please send me a message. On Mar-02-12 at 05:34:19 PST, seller added the following information: Update: I've had a few questions so I thought that I would share the info: The car is located in Michigan. The pictures were from Nevada, but it was snowing in Michigan so I used old pictures. I uploaded a picture of the seat wear that I was talking about, a picture of the mirror and the bumper. Also, the passenger side air bag and the door air bags did not go off, so it should be just the driver side air bag that needs to be replaced. The air bag light is on (SRS-Seat Restraint System) so it will need to be reset. I actually started the car up because I received a question about the A/C. I started the car and let it run to warm the car up, then I turned the AC on (I've never used it) and it switched to cold air. I did notice that when the blower is on high that I it is kind of loud at first. Any other questions, let me know.
