Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my 1952 Chevy Window suburban. There are a lot of suburban delivery vans out there but not many suburban window vans. It has a 6-cyl 216 engine in it. The engine has brand new gears in it & starts up & sounds great. No tapping or smoking. It is standard 3 speed on the column ( three on the tree) .It has the hard to find clam shell rear doors. It has a brand new carbureator, new timing gears & a 6 cyl electronic ignition. It has the sliding rear glass windows but is missing the mouldings. the middle glass on both sides are missing & i cut & put in a piece of plexi glass. The drivers side vent window glass & door glass have a crack in them but both work & roll up & down. The front windshield & all other glass are there & good. There are 84535 miles showing on the speedometer. The exterior body is in good condition. There are no papers for the truck but I will give you a notorized bill of sale & papers of where you can get the truck registered in your name. The truck also comes with two split bench seats for the interior. There is some rust on the interior floor near the battery tray area where all of these types of trucks rust at. Most of these trucks were plain solid trucks & were used for carring things & making deliveries back in the day. The more expensive ones were made with windows to be used as passenger vehicles back in the day but there were not that many made since most people could not afford them. The truck is a project & does need some work but most all the major components are there. The gas tank is missing but are still made & sold. I did start up the truck & engage the clutch & it did catch & move but i did not drive it anywhere. If youre near the Bronx Hunts Point area, you are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look over the truck. I will not ship the truck but will assist with loading. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. A 200.00 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours after the end of the auction. I have too many projects & not enough time, space or money to fix them all so some will have to go. NOW FOR THE SCAMMERS:::::::: I will not accept your third party check & give you back the balance. If you want the vehicle for your client, then you buy it & sell it to them. Once you buy the car, you can ship it to where ever you want as long as you first pay for the car in full & then pay for all the shipping charges. I accept paypal, cash, postal money orders & certified bank checks but the money orders & checks must first clear my bank before the vehicle is released. Im sorry if your truck happens to be in my neighborhood before the checks clears. Certified checks must still clear my bank first. NO EXCEPTIONS. Cash is best at pick up or postal money money orders after clearance. On Feb-24-12 at 07:49:30 PST, seller added the following information: I tried to change the listing but am unable to do so once a bid has been posted. As stated by a watcher, the truck has the barn type rear doors & not the clam type rear doors. Also, the seat in the truck are not the original seats from the truck. Those seats were removed from a Packard car & put into the truck. They need to be bolted down.On Feb-28-12 at 10:18:43 PST, seller added the following information: I have painted the passenger fender & the two rear doors to match the rest of the truck & added 3 updated pictures of it. It looks nice enough to drive as is but like i said, I only put it on as a base coat with some paint that i had left over. It would look really nice if you fixed up the minor spots & put a clear coat on it.
