Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1983 Buick Riviera Convertible – Red/Red, in Fair to Good condition – Many, many new parts. I bought this car on eBay in late 2009. A list of the extensive repairs is provided below. The body, paint, and chrome are good with no dents or rust. The frame is straight and solid with no evidence of past accidents. The leather seats are good, with no cracks or tears. The original floor pans had rust and were replaced with solid ones from a parts car. The 5.0 engine runs smoothly. This car drives nicely. No knocks or squeaks, no engine codes displayed. The car is currently registered, running, and drivable on any highway. The automatic overdrive transmission was professionally rebuilt and resealed. All the emissions equipment has been replaced with new parts. New CV joints and front axles New engine valve guide seals The computer-controlled carburetor was rebuilt and works great. New spark plugs, filters, wires, just about everything on the engine. New KYB shock absorbers. New lights and bulbs everywhere. New quarter window power motors and drive tapes. New radiator New battery New brake discs and rotors (4) New burgundy color carpet New floor insulation * My definition of “new” means less than 1,000 miles since purchase or repair. Tires are good. Documentation Included: 1983 Buick Riviera Owner’s Manual Build sheet (photocopy) Complete two large binder volumes – 1983 Buick Chassis Service Manuals Complete one huge binder volume – 1983 Buick Parts and Illustration Catalog 1983 GM Body by Fisher Service Manual 1983 Oldsmobile Engine Diagnostic Manual (shared engine with Buick) Haynes Service Manual for this car. PLUS: I have scanned all the Chassis Service Manuals and Parts Illustration Catalogs pages for this car. You can enlarge the pages on your computer for great clarity! Needs: Carpet is new-in-box, as is floor insulation. Both need installation. Weather stripping on rear quarter windows has deteriorated and must be replaced. Due to uniqueness of the Riviera convertible, a generic kit for a custom car may be needed. The front seats have no motors and are fixed in place (they can be adjusted by attaching an electric drill to the drive cables). I have good, tested, replacement motors and all necessary mechanisms in a box. Cruise control does not work. All parts are present. The convertible top can only be lowered/raised manually; replacement motor and cylinders are available from vendors. The air conditioning is intact and operates, but is not cold, so it probably needs to be recharged. The door panels rattle, despite installing rivet nuts where the screws are. The problem is from previous installation damage to the tops of the door panels. I have good panels from a parts car, so the deluxe doorskins for the convertible need to be transferred to those panels and installed. The steering wheel rim is cosmetically cracked from sun damage. Kits are available to repair it.I’m selling this car because fifty years of weekends under hobby cars is enough for me. I had a 1983 parts car that was identical except it was a coupe, so there are extra parts, including the ECM computer, that go with this purchase.
