I am not a dealer, this is my personal car, it is currently registered and insured. This car is an unrestored Survivor / driver that has always been maintained and cared for over the years. It has never fallen into disrepair.It has been in my family for many years and has been stored indoors as long as we have owned it. The man who owned it before us also stored it indoors. Original, dated door panels with no cracks or tears.Original seats.Carpet has been replaced and will need the front replaced again soon.The interior is in excellent condition. No cracks in dash.This is an early 68 model with many first design parts.The paint is 25 years old and is presentable, having normal wear, chips and scratches that you would expect from a 25 year old paint job. The rivets are starting to show near the headlights, there are several small bubbles near the rivets. I drive it regularly. I just drove 600 miles to the NCRS show in Kissimmee with no problems on January 26, 2012 The car is very fast. Handles amazing. Brakes properly.It is everything a Corvette should be.New Al Knoch top professionally installed with no wrinkles, rips or cloudiness in the window. Excellent convertible top frame.With the 3:08 gear this car drives nicely down the road @ 80 mph. NO RESTAMPS! Power steering with rebuilt original GM parts from CSSB (control valve and steering ram) including new hoses. No leaks here.Power brakes with OEM GM calipers rebuilt with CSSB o-ring pistons. Work excellent!Correct master cylinder from CSSB using Silicone brake fluid. Power windows working as they should.Telescopic steering column.GM F41 front springs / 550lb spring rate.Vette Brakes dual mount fiberglass spring in rear with adjustable spring rate.Adjustable rear strut rods with spherical rod ends (hiem joints).Vette Brakes sway bars.KYB gas shocks.All 4 wheel bearings have been rebuilt.All suspension bushings have been replaced.The engine compartment is very neat and properly detailed using the proper finishes.The original wiring harnesses are intact and look very nice. GM radiator hoses and clamps. Dewitt aluminum radiator.Spal dual fans with a Spal computer for the fans.I made a custom Aluminum fan shroud… fabricated to fit and seal perfectly.Stewart High Flow water pump.Excellent rust free frame. I cleaned it with a wire wheel and painted the frame with POR-15 (see pictures of before and after). Excellent windshield frame.The bottom floors were cleaned with good old soap and water, retaining all of the original markings and factory paint over spray. Excellent original radiator support.Headlights work as they should with OEM 68 vacuum cans with ¼” fittings.New GM vacuum relays @ $150 each… not $49 China junk.Wiper door works as it should.Rebuilt steering gear box from Ikerds Corvette.Ball joints and tie rod ends have been rebuilt with Moog parts.Replaced all 6 u-joints with Dana parts.Stainless steel roller rockers under original reproduction valve covers.Moog Idler arm.Vintage 70’s Western 15 x 8” Knockoff style wheels.New Goodyear Eagle 255/60/15 (3000 miles).Vintage 70’s Hooker Side Pipes with 2 1/8” primary tubes. These headers add 100 Rear Wheel Horsepower... google it and see. Pertonix Electronic Ignition installed in the original GM distributor. The advance curve is optimized for correct initial and total advance. All parts replaced are USA made parts… GM parts were used when available. No import parts have been used. I have a file of service receipts dating back to the 70’s including the original GM selling dealer’s business card. I also have a 2” thick notebook of vintage 1968 vette ads as well as the original GM sales brochure. These items have been passed along with the car over the years.No Protect-O-Plate.I replaced the fuel tank and sending unit. The original tank had been previously repaired, the sticker was deteriorated and useless.The speedo is NOS GM. After only 10 miles it decided to work… sometimes. The odometer continues to work properly and shows 3500 miles since it was installed. The actual mileage is unknown. Since I was a kid, I have saved a 68 only, 6500 rpm tach from an L88. I installed it. On my trip to Kissimmee the needle broke. It still works… only half of the needle is there. Included is the original, working, dated tachometer that was removed from this carThe clock does not work.The ammeter needs replaced. Spare tire carrier is included ONLY If you hit Buy it now… Included are the parts below 5 original, GM 15x7, 68 only, Corvette rims.Excellent original steering wheel removed from this car.Rebuilt, dated and recolored, Rochester Quadrajet carb # 7028216 ($1200 value).OEM Dated Harrison Radiator removed from this car (needs re-cored).Correct, dated, alternator 1100693 removed from this car. NOS GM radiator shroud.Original restored and re-chromed valve covers that were removed from this car.Original rocker arms removed from this car.Original fiberglass rocker moldings and aluminum trim removed from this car.Original, rebuilt, dated, water pump that came off of this car and working properly.Original GM camshaft that was removed from this car in good condition.A fully restored GM ammeter from Clocks by Roger. This is a good, honest car. It is difficult to express the incredible amount of time and energy expended to ensure a car can be driven with confidence. This car has been tested over time and is well sorted and ready to enjoy. This Corvette drives straight and handles very well. No shimmies or shakes. Stops straight. Fresh 4 wheel alignment. The engine is tuned properly / perfectly and runs as it should. No smoke, spitting, coughing, stumbling or missing. Excellent oil pressure at all temperatures. No overheating. Only brutal torque and power. Recent valve job with new springs, stainless valves, ARP rocker studs and GM hardened 3/8" pushrods.New oil pump.New Competition Cams true roller timing chain.Comp Cams 268H camshaft.Only Fel-Pro gaskets were used.The engine has TRW forged pistons and was dynamically balanced sometime before the car came us. I inspected the short block and found it to be well within service limits. No repairs or replacement of components were required. 3500 miles since the engine and suspension work has been completed. The Hooker side pipes have spiral baffles inside them… this car runs sounds like it looks… mean & nasty. I am an aircraft mechanic, trained automotive engine machinist, sheet metal TIG welder, and fabricator. In addition, I previously owned a Corvette restoration shop in late 80’s early 90s, specializing in 68-72 Vette... I know what I am doing and have maintained this car for myself, not for resale. You can buy with confidence. The only reason I am selling is: I see an opportunity that requires ca$h. This is a 44 year old car. I have made every effort to give a comprehensive description of this car both good and bad. That being said, I may have missed something. Please ask any and all questions before you buy.
