Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a third generation family owned, Purchased new in April of 1968, as the Dodge White Hat Special. 1968 Dodge Polara 500, 2 door coupe, Color: Medium Green Metallic/ Black Roof Interior: Black/ Tinted Windows Music Master Radio ( Radio does hum, antenna and wire, may need replaced) 383 cu,in, 2 bl carb engine, rated at 330 hp automatic torqueflite transmission, posi traction rear-end Power Steering, Power Brakes Factory Undercoating/ Private company undercoating May of 1968 The car has been garage kept, and mechanical repairs performed as necessary over the life of the car. The car run as good as it looks. The exact dates of repairs and specifics, I generally know, I do know the car is in very good running condition and has been maintained this way since new. The exterior paint, roof and interior all original 1968, as is the engine, and transmission. Minor marks, some small scratches, and one dent in the lower quarter panel are what you can expect to find on a car of this age. The only rust area is idetified in the photo's. The frame and rest of the car sheet metal are solid. I did not replace the antenna, I had no desire of scatching the paint. Rep[lacement antenna Is included I could not find an original N.O.S. antenna. No body work or any reconditioning has ever been performed. The front drivers side and passenger side seat have rips in them and do need repaired, the invoice sheet indicated extra foam in the front seat. The tears resulted from screwdrivers in my Granfather's pocket. Hub caps are the original. The list of repairs and part replacement follows: The only major repair has been the replacement of the cylinder head gaskets, manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets. The original cork gaskets had become seriously degraded. At this time new wires, points (yes still has the original ponts system), plugs, distributor cap and rotor. This work was performed at, Denny's Engine and machine shop of Butler PA. Water pump, thermost, all belts and hoses around 2 years ago. All rubber fuel lines have been replaced, due to dry rot, rear brake lines, front brakes, and front driver's side left handed lug nuts changed over to right handed threaded lug nuts. Rear drivers side still has the left handed threaded lugs and nuts. Original lugs and nuts are int the spare tire, in the trunk. Complete exhaust system, windshield wipers new, window washer resivoir new, Tires are, Uniroyal Tiger Paw radials, the tread is as close to new as you can get. I was driving the car on interstate 79 and kicked it into passing gear, the speed was still going up at 96mph, then I decided real quick I could not afford the ticket to see what it would do. Personally I feel you could drive this car any place you wanted to with confidence. The car is sold as is no warranty intended or implied. I do reserve the right to end the aucion early if a local buyer comes up with cash. I have all documents and the title, ready to transfer. The car is a nice original car. If you are a Mopar fan and have been waiting for your cruiser to come along, this may be the one to own. Please be serious when you bid, I had to think seriously about selling the car. The car has been in the family a long time. Due to circumstances, it is time for the car to belong to someone who would enjoy and appreciate the car. What I know the car needs is turn signal bulbs, the front seat repaired and radio repaired.
