For auction is a 1973 Mercury Cougar XR7, 351 Cleveland motor, automatic transmission. Odometer reads 65,000, but I'm sure it rolled over. Car runs and drives, exterior not too bad, has some rust issues and peeling paint. Also crack in windshield. Driver door needs adjusting, closes OK, but not lined up right. Has like-new tires, new exhaust system and shocks. Interior is in rough shape, needs headliner, dash pad is cracked, carpet and seats have rips. Trunk is solid but does have some rust holes. Has spare, jack and 3 of the original hubcaps. Motor runs, but idles rough, also can hear a tapping lifter. Recently had new distributor and wires. I think the timing may not be set correctly. Doesn't blow smoke or leak any fluids. Drives down the road OK, has some play in the steering, brake pedal is a soft, but does stop. Recently registered and driven occasionally.
