Vehicle Detail
Garage kept for the past 50 years or so, this car is the project that never started. Last used on the road in 1964 as indicated by the inspection sticker from that year. I had a local member of the Northern Virginia Model A club look at it to assess its condition and value. He indicated it's between a 4 and a 5 on the Hemmings scale. 4 means it's drivable and 5 means it needs a little work to get it running. So that means it wouldn't take much to get it running. I put a battery in it a few years ago after letting some Marvel Mystery oil sit in the cylinders for several days, and it cranked over! I don't know much about these old cars, but the club member indicated the headlights aren't original; they are sealed beam. The wheels have hub caps that say V8 on them, and we know that isn't true. It is an original flat-head 4 cylinder. Could be restored to original appearance or turned into a street rod. It has a little rust below the rain rail on the right side, but it's in pretty good shape for 82 years old! The one showing the clutch pedal shows an area that has rusted away on the left front side area, I believe it's called the cowl. 2. View of the firewall forward of the pedals. 3. Better picture of the right side of the engine. 4. Crummy interior shot, but the old seats are just covered with 1960s era vinyl. 5. Floor board behind the front passenger seat. 6. Right rear fender shot showing cracked bondo. 7. Right hand door showing bondo repair. 8. Another shot of the right rear fender. 9. Rust along the roof line on the right side below the rain gutter. 10. Shot of many small dents in the right rear corner of the body, just inside the right fender where the fender attaches. 11. Another shot of the same body area. The reason all the shots are from the right side is because it's right up against the garage wall on its left side and i can't get in there to take pictures, but these shots are representative of the entire car.
