You are bidding on a very rare 1986 BMW 528e in excellent condition. I believe in being up front & honest about everything; it's exceptional features to it's flaws. Let me start with the good stuff. What's Great? * The car runs fanTASTIC. * Starts every time, first time * The Dashboard looks pretty much close to perfect/mint. No cracks. I'd say the interior is pretty amazing too (aside from the aforementioned small driver's seat tear) * Brakes stop on a DIME * I just paid $450 for an entirely new front brake job. New Pads, Rotors, brake lines & rebuilt calipers 5 days ago * I also just paid to have the front end aligned 5 days ago * Automatic transmission shifts perfectly. No leaps, jerks or noises * Tires are great (I'd guess about 65% tread) * Engine runs smooth as ice * Timing belt has already been changed a few years back * Interior (with one small exception) is pristine in a very rare beautiful creamy white leather * It has an exceptional sound system. An Alpine head unit with USB & front aux with Polk & Pioneer speakers & 2 subs with Kenwood amp in trunk. Sounds amazing * Wheels are the original BMW spokes & in great shape * All power features work great (to the best of my knowledge) like windows, door locks, power seats, sunroof, etc.. * Car does not smoke at all. Doesn't burn any oil or transmission fluid. No significant leaks. Barely ever have to stop off the fluids * Oil has been changed every 3K * Just had the electrical system checked out yesterday. All good * The car passed CA Smog with flying colors. For the Buy It Now price, I will provide new CA Smog certificate (as it needs to be within 90 days when you transfer ownership). Outside of Buy It Now, buyer assumes Smog responsibility. * Car has been in sunny So Cal for years so the body integrity is great * Paint look really nice with only a few imperfections * Even the cruise control works great which is pretty rare on these cars * This car has been a daily driver without hesitation. This means it is good to go. Known Imperfections: Body:* On the passenger front quarter panel was a slight indention that I tried to have pulled out. It improved somewhat but you can still see the impression slightly. Not major at all but worth mentioning. I had it quoted at $100 to have it fixed but it never really bothered me. Along with that it's worth mentioning that it has it's fair share of typical little bumps & bruises from being driven regularly. Again, nothing major but worth mentioning that it is not MINT. Also, on the hood there is what appears to be a little rough spot (only in the clear coat, not discolored at all) that could probably easily be buffed out. It's never bothered me but it might you. OdometerIt stopped at around 134,000 miles. The previous owner took such good care of it that I can't imagine it has much over 200,000 miles on it anyway. My last one of these the engine went for nearly 500,000 miles easily. So I can't verify the exact mileage but the timing belt was changed by the previous owner in 2008. Again, by the way it runs I find the actual mileage to be irrelevant. InteriorAs mentioned above the interior is in awesome shape. But there is the beginning of one pretty small straight seam tear in the driver's seat. Nothing serious and it is easily repairable. I even sewed it together temporarily at first. All seats are still super luxurious & totally comfortable. More so than most new cars, lol. ABS Brake LightThe Anti-Lock Brake Light pops on on the dash. My mechanic told me the brakes checked out great with no issues at all. To have that light turned off the price was estimated at $100-$200. So I just never got around to it. I barely notice now. Also I think I detect a little brake drag. I was told that the new brakes might be sticky for a while but they feel a little draggy. Alignment:As mentioned in the "What's Great" section above, I just had the front end aligned so the car pretty much handles great. Suspension is nice & tight just like a Beemer. But I think it's worth mentioning that I feel the slightest pull to the left sometimes on the freeway. Nothing unsafe, but again I want to provide full disclosure. I did have it looked at and was told that there was one bushing in the front suspension that replacing would shore it up. But I've driven this everywhere for miles & miles without any safety concerns, slides or any problems, nor any uneven wear on the front tires so that shows you how minor in nature the problem I'm talking about. In Closing:This car is pretty amazing. I've always loved this model & wanted another one for years. It is remarkable just how reliable, powerful, quick, stylish and well made this car really is. Obviously it has it's minor imperfections as described above, but there are very few of these cars still out there. I am in no hurry to sell this car & if I don't get an offer close to what I want, I'm glad to hang on to it. But feel free to submit whatever fair offer you want.
