Up for bid here is a very nice and solid 1986 Monte Carlo SS. The car is fully loaded and includes the optional 3.73 limited slip rear axle. I put a picture of the parts I.D. tag in this listing so you can check the options. I purchased this car from the original owner several months ago after it had been sitting for several years. The car has almost all of its original paint and is definitely showing its age. The body however is very solid. I repaired a few small rust areas on the outer body by cutting out the bad and replacing it with new steel. All repaired areas were welded in place and not glued. I saw no rust to the floors when I had the car on my lift and the frame looks good as well. The car has had new ball joints and tie rods installed only a few hundred miles ago. I also have not noticed and leakage from the T-tops. The interior is in very good condition. There are a few small wear spots to the drivers seat, a few light marks on the carpet, and I saw two small burn holes on the rear seat bottom. The headliner does need to be replaced though. The car runs and drives very well. I have put several hundred miles on the car since purchasing it and have enjoyed it very much. Everything in the car appears to be #'s matching with only the carburetor being replaced. There is an original E4ME electronic carburetor in a box and it goes with the car. It currently has a standard non-electronic Quadrajet sitting on the stock manifold. All the car really needs is a repaint and a new headliner. The tires have plenty of tread and it drives nice and straight. It doesn't push any smoke that I have noticed even after the car has sat for a few days. There are no knocks or strange noises anywhere. All in all this is a very nice 36 year old Monte SS that just needs a little TLC. I am also having a new windshield installed on Monday (2-20-2012) since the original one has stone chips, scratches and a few cracks. On Feb-21-12 at 17:47:51 PST, seller added the following information: The new windshield is in and looks great. I saw no rust anywhere around the windshield frame. I also looked into the mileage discrepancy shown in the history report. It was due to human error. These cars do not read over 99,999.9 miles. They just turn back to "0". You can see in the report that the car showed 131k miles and then only 32k mile at the next emission check. Someone forgot to put a "1" in front of the "32". This car is too clean and original to have a more miles on it than what it shows now. If the car doesn't sell here on ebay, I will strip it down to bare metal, repaint it in my shop, and replace the headliner.
