Offered here in this NO RESERVE auction is a very nice, well taken care of 1986 Mercedes Benz 420 SEL. The car is finished in Champagne metallic with a chocloate brown interior. The paint appears original and is in very good condition for a 26 year old car. The body is lazer straight and the car is free of any accidents, as thr Carfax will show. The paint has a nice shine to it and while there are some fine scratchs at various places on the car, it presents very well, even at close range. No body rust! This car has been in california since it was 5 years old and garaged it's whole life! And it shows! chrome is good with no pitting. Car has updated, 1990's style MBZ rims also finished in chrome. The interior is in good shape also. I do believe the interior was reupholstered by a previous owner, but that's just a hunch. The pattern is correct so it is hard to tell. All seats are in very nice condition with the exception of the drivers seatback, which does show wear. The car has many features and most eveything works as it should. In addition, this car has 2 seldom seen options; heated front seats and the extremely rare orthopedic seat option! Only the clock and the outside temperature gauge do not work. Mechanically, it has had extensive work done. Most notably, I had the entire top end of the engine rebuilt. This included new camshafts and rocker arms. Additionally, it has new muffler resonators, new interstate battery, new alternator, new power antenna, all new brakes, including new rear calipers and fairly recent tires. Newfuelpump and fuel distirutor. It also has had a tune up within the past 6000 miles and it got a new oil change 2 months ago. Runs like a champ! The car basically just sits in the garage. I like it a lot, but dont drive it anymore,so its time for someone else to enjoy it. To my eye and tastes,it needs nothing to be used as a great daily driver, which is what it was for me for several years, but that is a subjective matter.Please ask any and all questions PRIOR to bidding so you are thoroughly acquainted with the car and know what you are buying.
