1956 Exquisite T-Bird Conv 312 V8, w/Hardtop, Head Turner, Great Driving Machine We proudly present this gorgeous 1956 Thunderbird Hardtop Convertible. This classic automobile was a show car for many years. The current owner, tired of the car shows, decided to use the car as a second car and drives it about three days a week. He has owned this vehicle about 15 years. Originally designed as a "Personal Luxury Car" to compete with the newly introduced Corvette, the T-Bird outsold the Corvette in 1956 23 to 1. There were only 15,600 produced. The 312 OVH V8 engine, along with the Four Barrel Carbs, make this car explosive. This car features Overdrive, New Tires, New Battery, AM/FM, Dual Exhausts, Continental Kit, Power Steering, and Power Brakes. Also comes with a Hard Top and Soft Car Cover for Storage. It was repainted around 1993. The color is unique. It is called Peacock Blue, however, it is a bolder color than the original Peacock Blue and much more striking. The mirror is a third party mirror. The heater and clock are not working at the moment (living in Florida, this was not a priority). The car will probably require a gasket as there are a few oil drops (about 6 per week) beneath the engine. The body is great condition. There are a few nicks (please see photos). There is a small crack on the side of the hardtop, and a couple of nicks on the top. This car runs great and is a real looker. It would not take very much to turn it back into a show vehicle. In Florida, the license plate remains with the owner of the car, so you will need either a trip pass or a temporary tag from your home state if you wish to drive the vehicle. We will coordinate transfer of title with notarized Bill of Sale at our local DMV if necessary. Sale of this vehicle will be final. We encourage the prospective buyer to drive the vehicle prior to purchase. When you arrange with a shipper, we will certainly cooperate with them to arrange for a smooth delivery. If you prefer to have us arrange for shipping the vehicle, we can certainly do so. There will be an additional cost of $150 for us to act as your shipping agent. We will provide you quotes from shippers, handle the administration, and arrange for pickup and delivery. Pre-payment from you to the selected shipper will be required prior to pickup.
