Vehicle Detail
The motor is not the original one but runs good. It received a major tune-up with a rebuild on the 2 barrel rochester. It also has a new water pump, water hoses and belt for the alternator. Their is no exhaust system in the car only the exhaust manifolds. The transmission is a 3 speed manual. The previous owner convered the shifter from the column to the floor. I had a new core installed in the radiator and purchased a new core for the heater. The heater hoses and fan motor to the heater are also new. I have all new control cables for the heater levers. The gas tank was boiled out and has new rubber hoses going to the filler tube. The brakes are all new. I purchased all new wheel cylinders, brake shoes, flex lines and upgraded to a dual master cylinder for added safety. The front suspension has all new ball joints, bushings, tie rods, shocks on all four corners It still needs a front end alignment. All the electrical wiring is fine and everything works except the back up lights that I installed. The wires are run to the transmission but it still needs a switch to make them operate. This is not stock to the post so you may want to remove the lights from the bumper if you want to stay original. The alternator light does flicker on the dash so I think it needs a new voltage regulator. The previous owner upgraded to Alternator. The body was stripped down to metal and then etched primed before the bodywork was began. Someone previously replaced a partial quarter on the left quarter panel and they did a good job. The only way you can tell is to remove the upper quarter panel trim by the quarter window. The inner quarter panel shield under the quarter still needs to be fixed and the seal installed. I had to cut out and replace the driver and passenger panels where you put your feet. I used replacement panels from an online vendor. The lower rear section of the truck floor was rusted out and also replaced with a replacement panel from an online vendor. The car is now developing some surface rust from being stored outside and their was a little water that got under the truck floor mat to produce some surface rust so it's time to sell before things get worse. The body has been blocked 3 times and is very straight. The doors line up good and close very easily. The truck is also lining up good and closes nice. The hood needs some more adjusting. I have a bunch of new parts for the car. Here is just a few items that are new ( carpet kit, chevrolet emblems, chromed glove box door and a stock plain door, glove box, door seals, vent wing rubber, window moulding front and rear, new antenna, sill plates, rear bumper installed, grille installed, lenses) etc., I purchased a used original steering wheel with trim ring that goes with the car. The tires are brand new Firestone wide white wall with zero miles. The front bumper is the California one piece bumper that still needs to be straightened and chromed. The car comes with all the exterior stainless in pretty good condition. I also have all the inside door, quarter and windshield inner moulding. T\ The only glass I have is for the back window. The only part that I believe is missing is the door vent window frames that hold the glass. They developed legs and walked away I guess.
