0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false 1976 BMW 2002a. Up for your consideration is this fine '76 BMW 2002. It was restored fully back in '95 and then again in 2006. Its now so easy and fun to drive that it's been my daily driver. In 1995, the body was completely stripped, bead blasted to get rid of all rust and then repainted black while the engine underwent a total overhaul. The engine head was removed, stripped and sent to a head shop for cleaning & reboring. New pads were installed, the main bearings and front and rear seals replaced, a new cam and new water pump, new timing chain, header installed, the intake manifold was cleaned and ported, the radiator removed and cleaned. I have records for the time I have owned this vehicle as well as from the owner before me. From 8/2006-7/2011, the owner before me invested over $8500 into this car. He installed a new speedometer, new carburetor, new engine fan, new motor mounts, new cylinder heads, new head gaskets, new thermostat, new motor mounts, adjusted mirrors, new ignition coil, new fuel pump and hoses, and a new battery. I have also put in a new alternator, changed the brake and radiator fluids, and fixed the a/c system so that it runs ice cold even in this intense Central Texas heat. The vehicle passed state inspection a couple months ago without any problems; its good to go right now!The interior is just as nice. It has black leather recaro seats, a leather MOMO steering wheel, a rare automatic transmission, a Blaupukt CD player, Yokohama tires, and custom Sisal floor mats. All the original glass is still in place except for the front windshield, which was replaced with new BMW glass. This 35 year-old vehicle has been carefully maintained, professionally serviced, responsibly driven and garaged. This BMW has been my daily driver and is a real gem. I’ve had it appraised by my mechanics here in Austin to be worth between $12,000-14,000, but have a much lower reserve price! Happy Bidding!
