Vehicle Detail

1975 International Harvester Scout II 4x4 This is a highly optioned Scout. It has the 345 c.i., 2-barrel, automatic transmission, power disk brakes, power steering, cold factory air conditioning, tilt wheel, group light package. Factory chromed 15x7 Rally wheels with 30x9.50x15 tires with 85% tread. This rig has 76,813 actual miles. The motor was rebuilt for more performance and fuel economy. The engine was bored 30 over, balanced and blue-printed, all new rings, rod and main bearings. The heads were match-ported to intake and exhaust. The engine was rebuilt by Eric Donnelly from Grants Pass, a well-known engine builder. New Holley carb, the original is included along with the factory original air cleaner assembly. The engine was painted orange and the factory original valve covers were triple-chrome-plated. New orange spark plug wires. All new hoses, belts, radiator rodded out. Petronix ignition kit included, not installed. The engine compartment is very clean with no oil leaks, grease, or grime. The engine runs very strong with good oil pressure and runs cool with no overheating problems. Transmission: It was rebuilt with an RV shift kit and shifts firmly. Transfer case is very quiet and tight with no growling or whining noises; 4-wheel low and high work fine. Exhaust: Stock cast iron exhaust manifolds were coated. Dual pipes with chrome tips and glass packs installed. Front and rear differentials are in good condition with no noises; very tight. Body: It’s very straight and solid. The paint is 9 years old and shows very well; above driver quality. Color sanded and buffed. It’s a PPG single stage done at a very high-end shop in Southern Oregon. There are two minor rust spots on the top, rear corner of the roof on both sides (see the pictures). There is one small ding on the right front fender corner (see picture). Floor pans are very solid with no rust as are the rockers. Tailgate bottom very solid; it opens and closes nicely as well as the rear window. The top is completely removable. All door jambs, tailgate, under hood paint is very nice with no grease, road grime or rust; the jamb paint is in excellent condition. After-market powder-coated grill guard. After-market fog lights. The black side decals are in excellent condition. The bumpers are very straight; the front one was recently re-chromed; rear is driver quality. All stainless trim and door handles are in excellent shape with no pitting. The tailgate, doors and hood all line up nicely and open and close easily as they should. Nothing is tweaked on this body. Glass: The windshield is new; all glass is in excellent shape with no scratches or cracks. The Scout has the optional slider rear windows which work well. All window regulators work like they should. All window/weather stripping is in excellent condition including the tailgate seal. Interior: It’s in beautiful condition. The seats, carpet, headliner, and door panels are in excellent condition with no stains, worn spots or tears. It has an after-market Grant steering wheel. The second owner of this vehicle was a renowned gunsmith. He had his own machine shop and he made a lot of Billit aluminum interior pieces for this rig including: complete instrument cluster bezel, clock bezel, A/C bezel, fog light switch, cup holders, dome light guard, tach and vacuum gauge mount. He also installed an intermittent wiper switch next to the dome light switch made of Billit aluminum. The rear cargo area is in excellent condition with a custom made cover over the tire and a custom mounted Jerry gas can. No rips or tears in the cargo area. Electrical: Everything works on this vehicle: headlights (high and low), tail lights, backup lights, brake lights, turn signals, fog lights, dome and dash lights, side marker lights, license plate light. The AC blows cold! Heater works excellent. Vacuum, amp, oil pressure, temp, factory gauges all work. Set up for towing if desired with trailering brakes and receiver hitch. The electric trailer brakes work. Included in sale are a new pair of rear brake drums, wheel cylinders and brake shoes. The brakes are in excellent condition; they don't need to be replaced. The previous owner just bought spares. Scouts are known to rust in some areas and this one is not rusty, only the minor spots shown in the pictures. This is 3rd-owner rig. This Scout has never been boonie-bashed or abused; it was always adult owned and very well cared for. It was recently tuned and serviced; ready to drive anywhere. A lot of man-hours and $ have been spent on preserving this piece of Americana history. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer Scout than this at ANY PRICE! You will not be disappointed. I’m listing this vehicle for a friend. It’s been described as accurately as possible. The vehicle is sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. Also, the Scout is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Please call 541-659-8697 with any questions. Good luck bidding!
